I'm trying to compile Beast and consequently rapicorn on Debian testing.

> ./configure

results in an error:

checking for libpng12... no
configure: error: PNG image library libpng (>= 1.2) is missing, but required

I've got the packages libng-dev and libpng12-0 installed, so that looks like a
false negative to me. Any ideas on how to fix this?

rapicorn version is 16.0.0

Hello Thomas,

this may be an issue with your libpng.pc file.

Rapicorn in github has a new check for libpng now, you can give that a try.
It should currently build on Debian, as our travis pages show:

Thank you! I'll give it a try again soon.
