behavior inside a jQuery UI dialog

Hi all,

I would be grateful for any hint regarding this problem here:

I would have loved to create a jsfiddle, but I have no idea how to achieve that. Hopefully, you can get the picture and the code is simple enough (tried very hard to obtain a minimal one).
