interactive floor plan

Hi

i've been trying for a few days now to make an interactive floor plan with Raphael, but am stuck and need any help.

Basically, I've exported my pdf with inscape, then copied a few of the paths from the svg xml file in my paths.js to see whether it'll work.

All's good, however, I have a problem showing the background main image of the floow plan.

I read somewhere that I need to ungroup all the elements in Inscape and then save the svg.

Have tried that but doesn't seem to work

does anyone know how to keep the background image and at the same time being able to add on the paths separately to the paths.js?

any advice would be much appreciated
