Dear RKSG members,

some time ago a colleague of mine of Zurich gave me the typewritten copies of a series of seminars on metapsychology that David Rapaport gave in 1957. They were seven folders: three volumes on "Elementary Metapsychology" and four volumes on "Advanced Metapsychology", for a total of about 700 typewritten pages.

I thought that these seminars could be made available online for everybody, because they give a beautiful example of Rapaport’s theoretical rigor in his conceptual research. Also with the assistance of the Riggs library, these seminars have been scanned and I posted them online in a web page that is linked to the web site of the Rapaport-Klein Study Group. Here is the link:

Maybe some of you are interested in looking at them.

Thank you so very much Paolo, and the Erikson Institute as well for transcribing and making these available.  I certainly 'grew up' (e.g. 30 years of my middle age, now long gone) hearing about Rapaport and his seminar and the back and forth among them all.  What I see here is they are not just Rapaport's notes -- these are the 'conversations' among Rapaport and the participants that took place in the seminar, giving us a chance to participate vicariously in that active learning experience.  I am so very glad to have these.  Thank you again.  best,  Deborah
