Theseresources support the practice and training tests for the CAASPP and ELPAC. Do not use any of these scoring guides, PFAs, DFAs, or performance task rubrics when administering the summative assessments.
The following are key differences from the operational assessments to consider when using these practice test and training test resources to prepare for the Initial Alternate ELPAC and Summative Alternate ELPAC:
For the Alternate ELPAC, test examiners have the ability to use picture cards during the student's test administration. Picture cards are a resource used for students who communicate using picture cards or an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device. These picture cards should not be substituted during operational test administration. Print or upload the picture cards to the student's AAC device as appropriate. All of the practice test picture cards for each grade level or grade span can be accessed via the following link:
Test examiners have the option to use answer choice cards that are available as a stand-alone PDF. Some students communicate using picture cards or answer choice cards. If test examiners do not have standardized answer choice cards for use in the classroom, they may use the answer choice cards accessed via the following link:
As of 2018-19, only the grades 5 and 8 Statewide Science Assessment is still being administered. For information about those assessments, visit the Statewide Science Assessment page of the FDOE website. Practice materials for the Florida Standards Assessments (FSA) are available on the FSA Portal.
The FCAT 2.0 Sample Test and Answer Key Books were produced to prepare students to take the tests in mathematics (grades 3-8) and reading (grades 3-10). Sample Test and Answer Key Books for grades 5 and 8 science are available on the Statewide Science Assessment page. The Sample Question Books are designed to help students become familiar with FCAT 2.0 questions and to offer students practice answering questions in different formats. The Sample Answer Keys are designed to be used by teachers to explain to students the answers and solutions to the questions in the Sample Question Books and to identify which Next Generation Sunshine State Standards benchmark is being tested by the question.

Students may perform better and with less anxiety if they are familiar with the format of the test and with the types of questions they will be required to answer. However, please note that test preparation is only useful to the extent that it is also teaching content area knowledge and skills. Therefore, the use of test preparation resources is of limited value to students due to the narrow opportunity for content learning. It is very important to ensure that teachers are teaching to the curriculum and not to the test, as teaching to the test narrows the focus of instruction to only that content covered by the test.
The Forward Exam Practice Test online provides students the opportunity to interact and become familiar with the testing system. Students practice using the tools available on the Forward Exam and familiarize themselves with how to maneuver in the system and work the different types of questions they will encounter. All students should be given the opportunity to utilize the Forward Exam Practice Test prior to actual testing. The Practice Test is not scored, and the online versions do not save responses.
The Practice Test contains samples of stimulus and test questions similar to those on the Forward Exam. Each sample test question has been through a rigorous review process by DRC, Wisconsin Educators, and a third party, to ensure alignment with the State Standards. These questions will not be used on the state assessment and may, therefore, be used in Wisconsin for professional development and student practice. The questions are a sample of the content and types of questions that students will encounter on the Forward Exam. Each question contains information about alignment (standard measured), answer key, depth of knowledge, and specific annotations.
The PDF version does not allow for a student to interact and become familiar with the online tools or testing system but does contains samples of stimulus and test questions similar to those on the Forward Exam. The PDF version of the practice test does contain an appendix that provides information such as: the answer key, alignment to a Wisconsin Academic Standard, depth of knowledge, and annotations.
If you test with accommodations, you can select your accommodation when setting up the practice test and see how it will work on test day. If you configure your assistive technology settings during a practice test, you may need to repeat this step on test day.
I understand that there is no option to add images into questions or answers in practice test.
Will it be convenient to create a regular course and add images there and refer to those images in practice tests that I can add to the course ?
Thanks in advance.
I don't think I understand your question. There is no way to upload images using the upload function on practice tests but you can have images inside of a question on all quiz/practice tests. I agree that you can't have images for answers though.
Thanks for reply
Let me explain the problem: For example I have an image of a dog and want to make a test where the user should guess the animal (Just an example) with answers like a) cat b) dog c) cow d) horse.
How can I put a horse image in the question section ?
I see that it's available if I am making a quiz, but it's not available for the practice tests.
So I was planning to make a practice test, but now I should create a course to have quizes available to make this happen.
Oh. Is this new ? I didn't noticed the button probably, then I wrote to the support and they said it's planned to be added.
I believe some misunderstanding occured here.
Thanks for the information. That helped a lot.
Hello @GregReverdiau
Hope you are well!
I wanted to ask that how can I add images even for answers in MCQ type in Practice test. I can see option only for Question (for image upload), but not for the MCQ answers?
I have a Quiz where students need to select the correct image option based on a code segment. How can I create it?
Please let me know. Thanks a lot!
I am currently preparing to take the PSMI and it seems I am doing exactly what you did in terms of reading and mock test taking even before reading your post. So it's good to know that this level of preparation may lead to success on a first attempt.
Lots of questions from all the different sources were here in exam, like word-to-word questions... so to answer them was no-brainer, because you memorize everything during mock exams. But a few questions were rather challenging. Somehow I managed to nail most of them. I guess you just start thinking logically and apply common sense in such cases. I prepared lots of notes in advance, but oddly enough I didn't use them. Everything is my notes I remembered by heart, and for every "puzzling question" i could't find clear answer on the internet.
I've been studing for the test since last week: read the Scrum Guide many, many times, took my own notes and done the free mock tests (open assessments in
scrum.org and michael). I started getting very good grades in a row (more tham 95% in average in both) and decided to buy the password for the certification.
Then I read your tips in the forum, and went in
volkerdon.com as well. Harder mock tests, failed in the first one (40 test questions), barely passed in the second and third mocks. As you mentioned, `trickier` questions (attend x participate) , detailed questions not in the Scrum Guide (cone of uncertainty, scrum poker, technical debt, sucess metrics for PO, automated builds, scrum of scrums, integrated Increment) - though one can guess after a while.
For ELLA WODZINSKA, thanks for the suggestion of investing (not spending!) USD 10,00 in It was really worth for me. In my opinion their questions are the more similar ones to the real exam. Thanks also for the tip to "look for the obvious "no way!" answers and exclude them." Not so obvious if you only practice with the open assessments. Important tip for non-native speakers, like me.
And finally, thanks to Orkhan Efendiev for answering my previous questions. At that moment I was really panicking (could not find any other Brazilian which passed the test recently), so your answers gave me the confidence I needed to keep going, that I was in the right path.
2) I was really afraid about the site performance issues that were mentioned in many forums, but I didn't have any (maybe because it was Friday!). My tip is: try to select a time for the real exam where there are (probably) less users logged in.
3) I finalized the test in 45min, so I had time to go over all my bookmarked questions. In order words: manage time. Practice the other assesments (open, quizzes, mock) much as possible to finalize early, very early. It can be tough, because in real life, after all hours studying and knowing that you have only one attempt to pass, it's really tempting to submit the test and get the final results asap. By taking time to carefully review your bookmarked questions, for sure you will improve your score.
