I think everyone can agree with me when I say that being a Sherlock fan can sometimes be bittersweet. Yes, the show is addictive and the acting is amazing, but just as quickly as Sherlock Season 4 came into our lives, it gets taken away almost just as fast. With only three episodes debuting this season (as per usual), that leaves us with very little time to spend with our beloved detective. So it's only natural to immediately start to wonder when Sherlock Season 4 will be on Netflix so that you can enjoy this dynamic duo's antics over and over again.
I'm pleased to say that, unlike the torturously long wait fans are usually put through in-between seasons, the latest season of Sherlock tends to pop up on the streaming service relatively quickly by comparison. Instead of waiting years, we're probably only going to have to wait a few months before rewatching the fourth installment in its entirety. Back when Sherlock Season 3 debuted in January 2014, it only took until early June for it to appear on Netflix. So unless the series and streaming service have reached a different arrangement, I'd wager that a similiar pattern will present itself this year as well. However, it's important to note that no official release date has been confirmed as of yet.
Granted, even if it does make its way to Netflix by June, that's still a decent amount of time before the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will grace our television screens while playing these now-iconic characters, but given how often fans are used to waiting on this show, it's not all that bad. Plus, if you're really looking for a way to help pass the time, you could always binge watch the first three seasons again. (Sounds like the perfect excuse to me!)
Odds are most of you have already been watching Season 4 since it debuts on New Year's Day, so you know the kind of heartache that's in store. And for those of you who have yet to experience it firsthand, well... good luck, I suppose. Seriously though, it's a phenomenal season even by Sherlock standards, which is really saying something. So whether you've already watched it or not doesn't really matter because you'll undoubtedly want to do it again and again. And luckily, we won't have to wait very long for that to happen.

Like Netflix, Amazon has a vast number of movies and TV shows in its vault, so we were happy to see Sherlock in its lineup. You can opt to buy single episodes or get a full season in HD. A plus point when buying from Amazon is that you get to keep the copy of Sherlock and download it to your hard drive.
Another streaming platform we found Sherlock on was Vudu. All four seasons are available, however, there are no monthly fees with Vudu, you simply pay for individual episodes or seasons. Individual episodes in SD start at $4.99 and HDX starts at $6.99. For a whole season, it starts at $12.99 in SD and $19.99 in HDX.
The Pirate Bay is a popular torrenting site, and we had no problem finding Sherlock on there. It showed seasons one through four, and they all looked like they were in good shape. Before downloading from a torrent, we suggest you take a look at how many seeders there are next to the link. The more seeders it has, the better the chance of the download being completed.
Also, although torrenting is an easy and cheap route, the vast majority of it is copyrighted content and by watching it you will be breaking the law. You should use a VPN to keep your IP address hidden from prying eyes.
Please note, when you use Kodi to stream Sherlock, you will most likely be doing so through a torrent. For that reason alone, we strongly recommend that you install and use a VPN. Keeping your IP address out of the spotlight is a must when you are streaming illegal content.

The acclaimed BBC show Sherlock has found a new streaming home close to three years after leaving Netflix. Beginning in 2010, the show was a modernized take on the Sherlock Holmes character, with Benedict Cumberbatch playing the titular sleuth and The Hobbit star Martin Freeman taking the role of Dr. Watson. Created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, the show won a total of nine Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as a Peabody Award, and ran for four seasons and 13 episodes before concluding in January 2017.
Sherlock enjoyed prolonged success on Netflix before leaving the streaming service in 2021. Now, Sherlock will be coming to Hulu later this month, with Collider reporting that all 13 episodes will drop on the platform on March 26. This will include the divisive Christmas special The Abominable Bride.
Sherlock became a huge hit when it debuted on the BBC in the UK and PBS in the United States, and was praised for the quality of its writing, performances, and villains. However, many believed that the quality dropped following the death of Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott), often regarded as one of the best Sherlock villains, and reception to the latter two seasons was less enthusiastic. Despite this, there remains interest in a potential continuation.
Shows based on legendary source material can always prove to be a risk, particularly when updated for modern audiences. Sherlock was a pop culture phenomenonthat almost outstayed its welcome, but could enjoy a new lease of life on Hulu. The show's return to streaming will also likely rekindle questions about the possibility of a Sherlock season 5. This has long been discussed, with both creators and stars seemingly enthusiastic, but it will depend a lot on the schedules of those involved.
It is easy to forget the legacy that the series left, and how it changed the way many shows approached detective drama. Sherlock is often considered one of the best shows of the 2010s, and a new audience on Hulu could be just what it needs to rekindle interest and pave the way for further seasons. New Sherlock episodes will depend entirely on the availability of Cumberbatch and Freeman, both of whom have become household names in the decade since the show first aired. However, in today's reboot-happy culture, Sherlock's return remains a strong possibility.
Sherlock, the acclaimed BBC series that helped make Benedict Cumberbatch a household name, is finally returning to a U.S. streaming service, but not the one that introduced the show to a broad audience. Instead of Netflix, Sherlock will be joining the free streaming service Crackle, owned by Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment. The show features Cumberbatch as Detective Sherlock Holmes in modern-day London, alongside Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson.
Sherlock will be available on Crackle exclusively in the U.S. starting April 1, thanks to a licensing deal between BBC Studios and Chicken Soup for the Soul. The agreement runs three years, giving fans plenty of time to binge the show's 13 episodes multiple times. However, there will be commercials, as Crackle is a free, ad-supported platform.
"Our audiences have come to expect top-shelf original and exclusive programming from Crackle, which attracts new viewers while also keeping loyal fans entertained. Given Benedict Cumberbatch's ongoing success, the interest in Sherlock remains very high," Crackle Plus President Philippe Guelton said in a statement. "We are happy that our streaming services are the only destination for viewers to have access to such an in-demand series for years to come."
"Sherlock is a quintessential British story beloved by fans, so it's great news that Crackle Plus will be its new home in the U.S. BBC Studios is proud to have completed this deal so fans can relive the spellbinding adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson," Dina Vangelisti, EVP of Content Sales for BBC Studios, added.
Sherlock was created by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, who transported Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Victorian-era detective to London in the 21st Century. The BBC produced the show with support from Boston's PBS station WGBH-TV, which aired Sherlock as part of the Masterpiece anthology series. There were only four seasons with three movie-length episodes each, plus a 2016 special that had Sherlock dream of solving a case in the Victorian era while under the influence of drugs. Although the show was set in the 2010s, most cases were inspired by original Conan Doyle stories.
The first three seasons earned critical acclaim, with Cumberbatch and Freeman winning Emmys in 2014. The episode "The Abominable Bride" also won the Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie in 2016. In 2011, the episode "A Study in Pink" received a Peabody Award. Sherlock also won the BAFTA award for Best Drama Series in 2011.
Although it has been five years since the last episode of Sherlock aired, Freeman told Collider they would still be interested in reuniting last year. "Yeah, I think it is possible. It might be more likely, yeah. I think we've all left it so that it's not a full stop; it's just a big ellipsis or a big pause," Freeman said. "Maybe it's because we don't want to say, 'Oh, it's a full stop.'"
