dontdownload any of the above as they are possibly viruses that can harm your computer. please download the original ITUNES and extract it into WinRar, then drag the apple mobile support driver thing into your desktop, and proceed to installing it from there
I had this issue on Windows 10. I did not have a "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple" folder (or in my case since I have Windows 10 x64 "C:\Program Files (x68)\Common Files\Apple". I installed iTunes which gave me the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Devices\Support\Drivers folder. When I tried to update the driver for my iPhone on the PC pointing it to that folder, it told me that I already had the latest driver.
However, the next time I connected the iPhone, the computer gave me the Trust/Don't Trust prompt. Prior to that it was just the iPhone asking me if I should allow the computer to access my photos, there was no trust prompt on the computer.
Done it. Well...until I got to the part where it wanted me to disable USBs that would also disable my keyboard and mouse functions on my laptop. Kinda don't have an extra keyboard or mouse lying around to connect up to. Oh, and it stated earlier to disconnect anything connected to the USBs anyway, so exactly how would I connect them if I can't have anything connected with the USBs? Aaaanyway...I'm just about to rip my hair out.
Oh...OK...they must have meant if you're using a desktop pc. Those articles are so confusing if you're not an expert...lol. Thanks. Guess I'll give it another try. ;O) Oh wait...Yeah...I've done the Stop & Start service thingy for bothe the Apple service and the IPod service to no avail. The article I was referring to was the one about trying to find the missing mobile device USB driver and repairing or reinstalling it. That's the one that's messing me up.
So I tried Everything , and my apple mobile device driver (or any apple driver) isn't showing up under my device manager. I'ts under my services but not under my device manager. This is causing neither of my iphones to sync with the computer. Please tell me if there is anyway to manually install the driver, since I followed apple's support for if it was missing, and it didnt work. My iphone(s) are not even being reognized as a camera or in recovery mode. I also reinstalled like 80 times and the driver is still not in the device manager. It's not my usb either since I have 3 usb's and neither of my iphone's will still not appear as a device in the deivce manager.
I did, and found nothing.....all I need to do is reinstall the apple mobile device driver since it's currently not on my computer anymore...which I tried everything listed on this website to get it reinstalled and none of it worked..
I agree with Allan. If you have truly tried EVERYTHING there is nothing else to try. On the off chance that you did not try EVERYTHING tell us what you did try. For example, did you do every step in this tip: , and when you followed these directions did you first reboot your computer, log in with an account with Administrator privileges, disable your antivirus and firewall (and completely uninstall it if you have Kaspersky, which hates anything Apple)? And not skip any steps, including any reboot steps?
Yes I did try that already, but people like me who have their apple driver deleted or is suddenly missing from their device manager have followed your steps and their apple mobile device usb is still not under their device manager. We've already established that reinstalling it completely does not bring it back nor restore it. My phone can charge through the comptuer, but no apple devices are appearing, nor does it make that noise to where you hear its been conencted to the computer. I deducted it to it being because my apple mobile device driver is no where to be found in the manager, and even when I plug my phone in, it doesn't show up as a "Unknown device" or "apple iphone" in the manager, nothing appears at all...
I reinstalled itunes and then my iPhone was detected but then when i removed the phone from the USB chord and then again plugged it in, the phone is not displayed under Devices. I guess this because of the missing - Apple Mobile USB Device Driver.
Connect your idevice to computer the go to device manager, expand other devices, you device should be listed there, right-click it the select update driver, click on search my computer for drivers, then browse to C/Program files/Common files/Apple/Mobile Device support/drivers click on Ok.....
Since I've upgraded to windows 8, something prevents my system from mounting the iPhone as an external drive. On further investigation (while trying troubleshooting methods mentioned above) I discovered that itunes will mount the iPhone as intended and I can interact within itunes.
However, I do not see the iphone 'mounted' on my system [In Windows Explorer; Device Manager or Devices and Printers>Unspecified] While removing the itunes items for a fresh install attempt, the iPhone mounted after I removed Apple Mobile Device Support Program [from Add and Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel].
As soon as I click the uninstall button while removing the Apple Mobile Device Support 'program' ... the iPhone mounts and is also present instantly in Device Manager>Portable Devices>Apple iPhone; as well as becoming available in the right column of the explorer window. Without unplugging the phone from the USB port.
At this stage I need to uninstall itunes every time I want to mount the iPhone and remove any images. More specifically uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support. Stopping this service in Services.msc does not do the trick.
I found that my desktop pc functions as anticipated with this issue, and my Laptop is the device that is quirky!! I belive I must have a conflict somewhere within my laptop setup. Some good feed back from turingtest2led me here:
A new FMCSA rule restricts the use of all hand-held mobile devices by drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). This rulemaking restricts a CMV driver from holding a mobile device to make a call, or dialing by pressing more than a single button. CMV drivers who use a mobile phone while driving can only use a hands-free phone located in close proximity.
Research commissioned by FMCSA shows that the odds of being involved in a safety-critical event (e.g., crash, near-crash, unintentional lane deviation) are 6 times greater for CMV drivers who engage in dialing a mobile phone while driving than for those who do not. Dialing drivers took their eyes off the forward roadway for an average of 3.8 seconds. At 55 mph (or 80.7 feet per second), this equates to a driver traveling 306 feet, the approximate length of a football field, without looking at the roadway!
I don't have Apple Mobile Device USB Driver anywhere. I followed your instructions.I don't know what to do. I cannot connect to iTunes. I was able too about a week ago and it just seemed to stop working.
This keeps Happening even when I tried to restart the amds but nothing seems to work I've done every single tutorial from yt and these apple threads and still after all my pc doesn't recognize my phone anymore
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling right click on the downloaded setup file and use run as administrator. It may also help to pre-install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable and/or temporarily disable any non-Microsoft anti-virus.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment.
I removed the Apple Mobile device driver support but when I installed itunes it never reinstalled, I found the exe file but when I tried to install that it rerolled and didn't install, now my computer doesn't sync with my phone and now idk how to install it again
I was able to install itunes but it still hasn't installed the amds so, I uninstalled it and installed the older version which installed amds however in device manager the amds never came up so I wasn't able to update the driver
it started when i updated the new version of iTunes (10.3) and when i connect my iPhone 4, it doesnt show up on my iTunes. I checked everything and i narrowed it down to Apple Mobile Device USB Driver under Device manager, i looked it up, clicked Properties and it says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". I really dont know what to do with this. I cant connect my iPhone 4 or lets just say iPhones or iPods in general because im having problems with the Apple Mobile Device Software.
I'd start with the Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Driver section of the For Windows Vista or Windows 7: section of the 3. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed section of the following document, and proceed from there:
So i did what you have posted, followed one by one but i stopped by STEP 5 under "Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver" by For Windows Vista or Windows 7: because i cant find the Driver folder that it was talking about.
I have been messing with this off and on all day today, and getting really rather ****** about it, and it turns out that that error was screwing me up. I'm a process engineer so I will follow a step action off a bridge, which is what I wound up doing today. Thanks for clarifying this! My iToys are now synching again. Thanks!
I'm in the process of deleting the programs (iTunes, Bonjour, and everything related to iTunes/Apple). By the way, i did the complete uninstall and reinstall but the thing is, while i was downloading iTunes, theres a pop up that says
