Myvscode autocompletion work fine with just this: # settings.json "python.autoComplete.extraPaths": [ "/Users/gtalarico/dev/repos/gtalarico/ironpython-stubs/release/stubs.min" ] Also, Pep8 and Pylint are linting programs is...

So as I have been developing increasingly more Revit plug-ins these days, I finally came to realization that the stupid security warning about Untrusted Publisher that Revit shows on startup really annoys me.

Now, this will not take away the Revit warning on the first try. However this time it will show it with your credentials, and you can choose to launch your plug-in. It should take it away on every subsequent Revit opening event. Also, when adding your sign command to the Post Build Event, please remember to sign your code first before moving your DLL somewhere else. I usually use copy commands there as well to copy my DLLs to appropriate Revit folders, so just make sure they are signed before they are moved.

Ps. From reading comments on Boost Your Bim post, it seems like on some machines you might have to open Internet Explorer before launching Revit. I am not sure why that would be, but I am just putting it here if someone runs into trouble.

The fact one CA charges a small amount and another charges a large amount just points to the likely inconsistency in their vetting process. One is investigating what you eat for breakfast and the other is just subletting their certificate.

Hi, some time ago i made a Dynamo custom node to automatically join intersecting stuff stuff (walls, floors, beams, etc.).

Now i want to make a Revit plugin with this code, so i can actually share it the easy way.

In the generation of free-form reinforcement in say a circular wall, I use the aligned distribution type feature to get a standard shape code 38 bar (refer to figure below). I cannot edit any of the reinforcement parameters when this is done nor can I change the shape code from a SC 20 (straight bar) to a SC 38. Is there anyway to work around this? Is this just a South African shape code issue?

You can select the set, go to the properties palette and change Workshop Instructions to Bend. This will allow the system to match the geometry of free form rebar to rebar shapes that you have loaded into your project. If matching shapes don't exist, they are created.

I have inherited a set of windows and window tags. The tag reads from the "tem code" field and comes up blank when I tag the window. I have tried to find where this item code is located and cannot find it. I know I can change it to read from keynote or type mark but I just want to know where this item code parameter is reading from. I asked google but no specific answer. Is the item code some sort of coding code and not available to edit? In that case, why would the window tag be reading from that parameter instead of Type mark or similar.

Thanks @ToanDN, you're a legend! One more question though....the project has the item code parameter, I thought that it could be automatically applied to the window, is that not the case? Do I have to go into every window family and ass in the item code parameter?

Thank you @ToanDN, you're a legend! Quick question though: the item parameter is in the project parameters already and I thought that it would automatically be applied to all items in the project, like windows, is that not the case? Do I have to add the shared Item code parameter to all window families?

Hi @DanielHurtubise ;

I faced the same issue with Dynamo 2.13. But no idea whether it is because speckle Addin.

So, I installed diroots app manager and disabled all the Revit Addin. Then open the Revit and run the Dyanmo and the code block issue was no more there. Then I close the Revit and enabled all the plugins again and then I checked the dynamo code block. Everything is working fine.

For now you can disable/uninstall the Speckle plugin for Revit to get the code blocks to work again. But if you feel adventurous, I can share with you a local build of Dynamo that seems to be working well with Speckle

Amir Aroesti , that's a fantastic question. And, welcome to our forum! We're planning to implement a dedicated panorama / web standalone management system which allows you to keep the QR codes, but replace the panoramas to which they're linked. I hope this is exactly what you're looking for?

Hi All, Is this feature now available on Enscape 3.3.1?! The dedicated panorama / web standalone management system which allows you to keep the QR codes, but replace the panoramas to which they're linked. I would appreaicate a quick reply please!

When i make changes to my code and get a new build, it fails to copy the DLL file to its proper location as it is in use.

i tried closing Grasshopper window, and i also tried exiting the RIR but neither will let me overwrite the DLL.

The only way i could get it to work is by exiting Revit, redo the build, then restart Revit.

I am not sure if this is related. but in this post, Joshua Lumley goes through how to write macros without having to restart Revit every time you make a change. And i have been using it with my macro. i am just not savvy enough to extend it to here for grasshopper nodes.

ABOUT REVICHECK

Revicheck was created by an engineer frustrated by wasted time on reworks that could have been prevented. With a desire to introduce a more efficient system that links those behind the computer, and those working on the installation, ReviCheck was created.

Its streamlined usability and accessibility makes it a solution for contractors and site managers. Work can begin on-site using the most recent drawing revisions, resulting in the reduction of costly reworks.

ReviCheck solves a problem we have had with our contractors for while; knowing what drawings are the most current. The amount of changes that occur in the field, during coordination, or even throughout the design phase, ReviCheck is highly recommended!

In short, code blocks are a text-scripting interface within a visual-scripting environment. They can be used as numbers, strings, formulas, and other data types. The code block is designed for Dynamo, so one can define arbitrary variables in the code block, and those variables are automatically added to the inputs of the node:

The code block can be found in Core>Input>Actions>Code Block. But even faster, just double click on the canvas and the code block appears. This node is used so often, it's given full double-click privileges.

In the image below, you can see the "old school" way of doing things is a little long-winded: the user searches for the intended node in the interface, adds the node to the canvas, and then inputs the data. With code block, the user can double-click on the canvas to pull up the node, and type in the correct data type with basic syntax.
