The PoolMasterproTM 2 is an automatic digital solar controller with temperature adjustment, manual mode and winter mode features. Suits unglazed (non-glass covered) solar pool heating collector systems. This controller is used for setting up and an independent solar pool heating system controlling a dedicated solar pump. Comes with pool and roof sensor.

This controller is used for setting up an independent solar pool heat system controlling a dedicated solar pool pump. We always recommend Independent Systems, see definitions below or manual. These systems run a small independent pump, typically for 8 hours per day and are actually more energy efficient than systems running through the main filter pump which have to run the large filter pump for 8 hours per day just to pump the solar side. Of course independent systems require separate solar suction and return lines, whereas for older pool these might not have been installed. If that's the case you'll need to go with a plumbing configuration that taps into your existing filter return line to divert water to your roof. There are a few configurations that can be chosen, see below or manual. Most people that do not have independent solar suction and return ports will choose a Manual/Timer System and place the main filter pump on a timer to run during the warmest part of the day. These manual systems can be automated down the track.

In the past, I would create an iOS Distribution Certificate and Distribution Provisioning Profile at developer.apple.com and then manually upload them to the MDM provider, as well as manually download them into Xcode and configure within each App.

I have no Distribution Profiles @ developer.apple.com besides the ones I've manually created, despite Xcode being connected to the account and reading "Provisioning Profile Xcode Managed Profile" under the Signing portion of the General information for the Target. Do I need to do something in Xcode to get the managed Certificates and Profiles to synchronize? I've already clicked the "Download All Profiles" button for the Apple ID within Xcode Preferences, even though I didn't expect it to help.

I probably created the profiles manually, before I switched to Xcode managed, so maybe it is still using the ones I created manually. When I go to Window > Organizer and click the Export... button and choose Save for Enterprise Deployement, when I get to the Summary step where it shows the "Binary and Entitlements" and "Provisioning Profile" list, there is a gray arrow next to the provisioning profile. When I click the arrow, Finder opens on a folder with a bunch of provisioning profiles in it, and the one it is going to use highlighted. Do you get the same? If so, maybe that is the Xcode managed one.

Because I took a very quick look - the v2 controller appears locked down (although as you point out, it has a http server open for the esp32-wifi-manager but does it support an API as well at special URLs?). It seems to talk to Dontek (the controller maker) and servers (perhaps theirs) in AWS on a regular basis. I assume this is to send back stats for the app.

Sorry for the long delay in my reply. I was laboring under a misconception (misrecollection?) that my system was v1.1 It is in fact v1.0. (The fact that your link to the v1.1 manual showed a completely different controller was my first clue!)

In the v1.0 manual there is no direct reference to the Remote terminals (they are visible in a photo - but not mentioned). They told me that they were non functional and only provided for future upgrades - but I have now had the time to do some experimenting and can confirm that they are in fact operational on the V1.0 system. Needs a dry contact pulse of about 5 seconds to achieve the exact same function as a click on the Boost button.

In my case, this is ideal for what I wanted. Will leave it in mode 3 to Heat (if required) on the Off Peak rate at night, and trigger a boost cycle if my solar batteries are at 100% and the export power is X kW and the calculated remaining solar radiation for the day is Y kWh. (I will have to do some measurements to work out the best values for X and Y). Have just bought a Shelly 3EM on the Black Friday sales, which when installed will give me the ability to measure the HWS power consumption, confirm when the Off Peak rate gets switched on, and control the remote boost function (will use the other two channels for other purposes).

I am interested in the performance that you get with two Sandens in parallel.
We need 16-20kW of heat for our hydronics in the floor. We are currently considering Four Reclaim HP in parallel to achieve that. They would be plumbed into a manifold for flow and a manifold for return. These then connect to a 200Litre buffer tank. The floor pumps are on the other side of the buffer tank and have mixing valve to limit temperature to the floor.

In our previous house I had a solar HWS and was able to slide a temp sensor in beside the thermostat in the tank - and get a proxy of the power being used. This meant I could see in HA the current temperature and the energy used that day, week etc.

We have infloor hydronic (and some buried in our besser block internal walls also) We use a Swimming Pool heat pump that heats a 5000L buffer tank - the Swimming pool pump is nominally 28Kw - but only under ideal conditions)

All the communications are tls protected and appear to correctly perform certificate checking, thus it does not appear to be possible to direct your controller to talk to a local mqtt server instead of amazon.

I currently have a working mqtt bridge that polls my V2 controller using aws-iot core mqtt and then re-publishes that data to home assistant entities via my own mqtt server. I am planning to re-work this into a native integration.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
I have chosen not to include reclaims aws hostname and identity pool ids in the repo at this stage. These can be obtained from the android apk. The values must then be entered at the top of reclaimv2.py. Let me know if you get stuck.

After restarting home assistant, you should be able to add the integration. It will ask for your unique identifier, this is the long number at the bottom of the sticker on your unit (or with the manual). It is the same number encoded into the QR code on the sticker.

Controller Mounting
Find a suitable location to mount the control box. Ideally as with all pool equipment it should be installed out of direct weather and no closer than 3 meters from the waters edge. Lift up the two mounting tabs and use two appropriate screws to mount the control box to the wall, keeping in mind that the power cable is 1.8m long and should be plugged directly into a general power outlet, not into an extension lead.

Pressure Switch or Flow Switch for Retro-Fit (Boosted) Systems - Optional
If the V2 Controller is to be fitted to a Retro-Fit (Boosted) System the mains power cable is to be plugged into its own power point. A Pressure Switch should be fitted between the main Filter Pump and Filter or a Flow Switch straight after the filter. All must be in a vertical position and plugged into the left hand plug socket beneath the controller. This will ensure that the booster pump only activates if the main pool pump is operating. When a Pressure or Flow Switch is to be used the controller must have this function turned on. To do this ensure the power is turned off, remove the lid and move the black jumper link marked J1 to connect pins 5 + 6. Refit lid and switch power back on, a 33 will briefly be displayed during start up. To switch off the pressure switch mode simply reverse the process.

Pool Sensor
For stand alone systems with separate suction and return the pool sensor must be fitted into the suction line of the solar boost pump, preferably in a position out of direct sunlight. For retro-fit systems the pool sensor must be fitted in the suction line of the main filter pump or between the outlet of the filter and before the take off Tee fitting for the solar boost pump. It is recommended that a 14.5mm hole be drilled in the PVC pipe, this can be carried out using a Dontek PD01 grinding drill or a small pilot hole can be drilled and a 14.0mm drill-bit used spinning in a counter clockwise direction to minimize the chance of shattering pipe. Insert the grommet into the pipe and gently push in the black sensor barb. The green sensor plug is to be fitted to the centre plug socket.

Roof Sensor
Roof sensors must be fitted into a small piece of solar collector or equivalent and attached to the roof. The best location is within arms length of the gutters edge of the house or shed as long as the sensor end is not shaded and is on a roof of similar aspect of the main collector. It must not be fitted on top of the solar collector or fitted to high points on the roof like Ridge Capping as false readings will be detected.
Keep in mind that it is of the utmost importance to keep the roof sensor as short as possible as this will assist in the longevity of the sensor and controller in the event of electrical storm activity and power surges. Sensor cables must not be run parallel to power cables and run lengths should be less than 50m. Cable ties should be used to fasten the sensor cable to the cold water inlet pipe making sure that the ties are approximately 10mm from PVC fittings. Cable ties should be tightened only firm, over tightening can cause breaks in the outer PVC if not careful. If the cable is to be run under ground a conduit must be used to protect the wire and there is to be no cable joins within, conduit ends must be sealed to prevent water ingress. Any excess cable should be removed and re-fitted ensuring that the wire ends are tinned with solder. The sensor plug is to be fitted to the right hand socket.
