Hey @DadyRick, from all I've seen if you have the Linux system in your machine you can't really play aion, but my suggestion is to have a dual boot in your local disk with Windows and Linux. I hope you can fix the problem and come play on our server.

Aion works fine on linux, but there is an anti-cheat asset on unofficial servers, because of it, aion does not start on the portproton and in the steam, if the developers of the anti-cheat asset add support to wine, then there will be hope, but they are already satisfied with everything

All trademarks are the property of their respective owners. The game Aion is developed by the company NC SOFT. The server EuroAion is not the official server of the game Aion and is represented for informative puposes only.

Hello, as title already said, i want to ask the status for the Steam Release of Aion Classic.
I mean Gameforge already have Aion MMO on Steam also include merged GF Launcher, so why it take so long to release it to Steam?

People used to use steam stats to doompost on how dead aion is + it also didn't really helped the retail with getting new wave of players so I guess gameforge decided to just not bother with it for classic

Then Gameforge should allow People like me, in case they Launch Classic on Steam in Future to LINK ONE TIME like the Retail Aion did with the new Launcher Update OR stop the Steam retail like Metin 2, or make a statement and say 100% NO to Steam instead of always just telling "no news at the moment..."
retail was going slow down when Steam launched (5.X) Patch, so yeah, ofc not many new player.
But Classic is playable, for EU playerbase you can say "good filled" Server. ALSO with 3.0 we get a second new class, a new leading Story since 2.7 with also an new class, maybe merging the Servers together and opening a new Server like even Aion Japan did, there would be a wave of new players for sure.

At least Gameforge should try, even if they remove it after a while, lol...
And the 1 time 100 Dollar to put it on Steam is a Joke, they earn enough via Siels / Battlepass
Also some ppl. now would say "but the 30% cut from sales via Steam, yeah true, but the "Old" or from the start player now Play & Paid over 400+ days until today, also GF (sadly for what reason idk) not let GF Launcher player Link the game to Steam if you play from GF, so the playerbase before steam are still the Same amount of player who pay from the normal Launcher without the cut. (NO Money lost)
The Otherhand, the "New" Player then could maybe pay are forced via Steam because since there is no shop website anymore, what aslo mean no VPN or Cheating with cheaper coins from other lands & the big plus, some ppl. have Money on Steam Wallet, since you cannot pay out steam wallet, some ppl. have a good amount of Cash there and maybe decide to pay Siels or whatever.
So in Math, -100 One time / + Same amount like now / + some new Steam 30% Payments, so only around 15 ppl. need to buy Siels, to get the 100 back.
And for sure even i would pay the 100 myself, because i finally can start playing then.

Where is the "mistake" for the wait over 1 year after launch to just release it?
That GF not release it from start make sense to get a solid playerbase, but now?
No Steam = Same as now, With Steam = 30% Cut sure, but the New Player who would Play and Pay via Steam will not come without Steam Release... So NO Actually Loss...

in my eyes, it is a win/win chance for both, GF/Steam & Player.

Sure i not mentioned yet the Steam Stats Doompost, but let them talk lol. Every one who really cares and look into the game see that there are more than the Steam Numbers.
The only real reason i guess or see is, that steam reviews will mostly about **** Bots. (Easy Solve this if you Put a GM / QA 1 Month in Capital City, hiding & Banning Bots.) Then the Reviews will not be that bad, but only because affraid of some reviews not to launch it would be curios.

Also we have 2024, who really care about Reviews, instead of take a look yourself / looking Streams?

Sorry for that Shit wall of text, but i finally need answers, or atleast want to give gameforge maybe a reason just to try it out. Drestam Grimnir Celes Daveius Fossilo pepper Sparx and maybe some of the Aion Team, you Lose nothing, same old playerbase, with a chance of new player who are willing to pay like me, because we like Aion.

Cheers.

Vindictus was fun , played for few months once the game started ... then i kinda hot max level and got tired to w8 for patches so i dropped it ...
Tried playing it recently but for some reason my eevee wasnt really working properly :c
Couldnt cast spells or anything , and support ignored me for a month ... still if no other option may go back to it again anyway D:

Tera , never really made that game work for me ... for some reason i couldnt install it properly on my old pc so no experience at all with it :c
I wanted to play the half naked demon ladies tho >.< Or the bunny girlz D:

Guild Wars 2 - the "allrounder" nothing can beat that atm and its free and not p2w ( you may need to buy the addon but its not really necessary)
9k hours done so far and im still not bored :p
i see a bunch of people sometimes playing "Riders of Icarus" on steam ... not sure if its okay or not but maybe take a look

Wow, completely forgot about this one. I need to update it but GW2 never gives you a percentage or file size when updating which makes it hard to properly schedule the update. I guess I could always just leave it up all night and see in the morning.

depending on how they made their update system and your internet connection, it sometimes is faster to just delete the game, then redownload the full client at once. thats what i am doing for ARK survival evolved, they often have big updates, but the whole game is like 7- 9 gb to download, if i know i won't play in a while i uninstall and redownload all in a night before starting again haha

For a new player, this may seem so at the beginning... but after a while you have so much Gold and hardly any reason to spend it
except ... if u like them legendary weapons
of many of the "Gemstore" stuff you'll also get a chance through the normal gameplay...

It seems everybody forgot The Secret World, Defiance and if you like the superhero universes, maybe DC Universe Online is worth for a trial... (I would say Champions Online too, but it is shelved, forgotten and didn't have new content for years)

Wish I could offer suggestions but I've never really played any MMORPGs though part of me would like to give one a try. I don't know much about what's good and what's not but you'll still get a bump from me.

tried tera, but like a shitload of person, couldn't installed it properly, i suppose you played in europe and use the downloader of gameforge ? because THEY are the problem.. i can install and play the US version, no installation problem, but 400 - 1000 ms is unplayable in this game where you always have to dodge / time your attack.. i played a bit with my friends using a torrent version of the europe client, but a few updates later it the download fucked up again and i stopped.. wich is a shame i really loved the game, gameplay, the style, the prettyness of the graphics, and that flying whale in the sky :D
just looking at gameforge forum youll see an awful lot of people complaining about their downloader, on the 9 person i personnaly know who played it, 3 had installation trouble and stopped after 1-3 days trying to get in.. in the 10 years of mmo and 22 of video games i have lived, tera - gameforge downloader is equal with gta 5 rockstar downloader at the worst place.

B2P Then... a mmo wich i didn't expected much of it revealed to be a VERY GOOD game : The Secret World. if you like "solo" game, with story, intrigue, mystre, and yet a dynamic gameplay where you have to at least move your ass during fight and not just press a macro key while eating a doughnut, you may want to inform yourself about this game.

F2Pi also tested RIFT wich was very interesting, started playing with a friend, but when he saw that my healer could change his build to be a dps, and in pvp we were equal he rage quitted because he is the kind of person that don't like not being the stronger, thats a childish part of him i dislike but playing a mmo alone can be pretty boring so i went to other games :p it is more classic than the other, less dynamic.

F2P You may want to test "blade and soul" ! if you like asian universe then you may love travelling through the map kicking ass while doing some martial arts :D here is some of my personnal spcreenshot of the game : -231977.html the gameplay is very dinamic, and for the pvp there is a lot of counter, stun, dash and other stuff makingthe fight really enjoyable !

B2P if you are a pve player who enjoy roleplay, you may also want to look at black desert online, thats the kind of game you can just spend your time cooking, travelling from town to town to sell goods from an npc to another, go fishing, i usualy don't like fishing in mmo, but in this one i realyl enjoyed crafting my boat, roaming the ocean with my guild mates discovering isles fishing while talking and joking, spent some good times on it

B2P lately the game who have been tooking the most time out of me, is ARK survival evolved, when you enter a tribe and begin to fight for survival, doing spike battle naked on the beach to not let ennemy kill your taming of dino (yes there is dinosaur in ark and you can use them as mount / tool to gather stuff / carryweight etc..) or not sleeping at night to defend the base you took weeks / month to build to be reduce to ashes, it is really thrilling. Its not a "conventionnal" mmo as there is a limit of people per server, but hardcore gamer who enjoy pvp, and have some time on their hand, should like this game :D

i also tried guildwars 2, played 2 weeks, got lvl 80 with full exotic, didn't had much left to do beside world VS world, and get bored... the puzzle jump were fun and an interesting concept id love to see more often in mmo. i don't recommend it, i still don't see why people keep playing it (though there is surely a lot of changes since i played it) some of my friends who played way much than me looked back on it sometimes and wonder why they spent so much time on it, probably the guild was fun :p the same person had the exact same reaction for allods online btw
