I suggest adding an export of password file so, a hard copy can be made, can be imported into a different browser or to be printed out.
I had been using chrome and Edge I had no problem importing the passwords into Ccleaner but now that i have been using Ccleaner a while and some of my passwords have changed I find that there is no way of updating the other browsers except to type in the password for each changed password. This is inconvenient to say the least.
I have found that edge will open automatically from some sites even though Ccleaner is default. On those sites if the password has been changed from Ccleaner then you have to go back and look up that password using Ccleaner browser.
There needs to be a way of updating the other browsers. The other browsers do not recognize Ccleaner's browser so have no import function.

Dev team is on the case and currently working on a solution that still works for the typical user (who will always want to read PDFs in a browser) while not creating annoyances for folks who have them associated with their preferred desktop app.

Additional reading for interested parties from the Adobe forums about other browsers doing the same kind of thing: Since our objective is to produce a browser that is better than other browsers, this has been a good feedback thread - thanks everyone.

The browser is only being offered to a limited number of users at this time. If you reinstall CCleaner on the same computer you are unlikely to be offered it. If you are, then you can elect not to install the browser. As mentioned above, based on user feedback a change is being worked on at the moment for Adobe Acrobat users to make the CCleaner Browser more polite than other browsers when it comes to file associations.

I was ready to uninstall CCleaner because it hijacked my browser, Firefox. Hey, CCleaner: NO ONE LIKES TO HAVE TO READ "THE SMALL PRINT!!!" It was very rude to have such a small, unnoticeable box prechecked. Very rude indeed and like MB Sprinter, I don't have time to screw around fixing something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. May your day be filled with having to fix things that you weren't personally responsible for!

The items you're looking for should be available in the Menu button near the top-right side of the browser; if not, would you be kind enough to let us know specifically what functionality you're looking for so I can bring that feedback to our development team?

The browser boosts your privacy with ad-blocking, anti-phishing, anti-fingerprinting, anti-tracking, etc. You can enable HTTPS encryption to establish more secure connections, and block Flash content to ensure safer and faster browsing.

The latest version of the program comes with revamped anti-fingerprinting technology. CCleaner Browser disguises your browser fingerprint, preventing websites from tracking your movements and identifying your user profile. This lets you avoid annoying ads and disruptions targeted at acquiring your personal and financial information after visiting a website.

I am starting using ccleaner-browser and have imported my other browser's bookmarks.
But like with the other browser I would like the bookmarks shown on the screen at the edge of the screen (better if there were an option to show/hide this function).

I share TwoNZW's concern about how CCleaner handles imported bookmarks. Just imported bookmarks from two browsers I have used in the past and they show up on the CClearner bookmarks bar as "Firefox Bookmarks" and "Imported" folders. I would like to have all bookmarks in a single location / folder, preferably a CCleaner folder.

By opening itself, i mean: the browser litterally opens its plain window, just like if i had press on its button in my task bar.
I am not talking about the CCleaning app, or its notifications. i talk about the real app "CCleaner Browser" opening its window by itself.

It can thoeretically happen if your browser is still running in the background.
Even though you've closed it a Chromium based browser may still be running in the background - and CCleaner browser is Chromium based.
A 'Push Notification' could then cause the browser to open to try and display the notification.
It's not usual, but your browser opening randomly is not usual.

If you realy want to be sure that it's not malware causing your browser to open randomly then you can also go to the Malwarebytes forum, where an expert will work with you to completely check over your computer and clean it up if necessary - all for free.
(They'll often also pick up other problems and not just malware).
If you want to do that then start here: -im-infected-what-do-i-do-now/

CCleaner Brower has a built-in password manager already, by the way.

However, you should be able to install the LastPass extension via the Chrome Web Store here: -free-password-ma/hdokiejnpimakedhajhdlcegeplioahd

Most but not all browser extensions should be able to be installed into CCleaner Browser via the Chrome Web Store, the same as in Google Chrome or other Chromium-based browsers. There are some exceptions (themes, for instance, are not currently supported), but in general it should be just that simple.

Out of curiosity, I just tested this in Microsoft Edge and it shows 'Add to Chrome' there as well - I'd wondered if they might have made some exception for it, being a fairly big-name browser and all, but nope.

Hi all,

hope it is ok to jump in here.

I am in a different situation here, due to some local changes i had to uninstall CCleaner browser, and once done all my bookmarks was deleted, as i did not notice the checkmark to delete all my bookmarks.

Is there anything i can do to restore them as it was very important to me. I havent tried to install again yet, before during some research.

I've had fibre optics for my home internet connection since yesterday.
Since then, all of my browsers have become much faster, but CCleaner Browser is still so incredibly slow that it is essentially unusable.

I've been using free version of CCleaner for a few years now, and had no problems, and have also used Google Chrome as my browser for many years. But recently, I've noticed that when I click some links, they open up in this new CCleaner browser, which is most annoying, as I want to use chrome as my browser. Can you please explain how this happened, because I don't remember installing a new browser. Also, a website I'm using now for a paid educational course needs me to install a Chrome extension application, and it's going to be a real pain if I have to constantly swap between the two browsers to do this. In fact, I doubt that the chrome extension will even work, if it resides on Chrome, and the main website is open in CCleaner browser. How did I end up with CCleaner browser?

As for how you got it;
It was probably offered when you installed a previous version of CCleaner and you didn't untick (maybe didn't notice) the pre-ticked box, so it installed the browser as well.

I have been trying to delete the cc browser and have followed all the directions but when I get to the add/remove in settings the uninstall is grayed out. I have all browsers closed. any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with Ccleaner browser. I was able to uninstall Ccleaner but it will not allow me to uninstall the browser. When you go to uninstall programs and click Ccleaner browser the uninstall option is grey'd out not allowing for uninstall. I have run malware bytes and the scan came up empty. I am running windows 10.

I am having a similar experience with ccleaner browser in Win10. I did not want to install it, but missed the check box when I was updating my CCleaner app. I've tried using the Control Panel and Apps & features to uninstall the browser. Didn't work. I've also tried the CCleanerBrowserUninstall.exe located in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCleaner Browser. That didn't work either. All three methods above did nothing. I'm super frustrated...

Many people have unused browsers and other software they never use just sat around on their computer doing nothing, unless you are short of storage space it's not a real problem just a slight annoyance if you don't want it there.

Hi there, I have flagged this issue to our Browser team, and they require Diagnostic information in order to investigate this issue further. It would be great if you could please share that with us, either here or with sup...@ccleaner.com.

It can be a pain to remove these downloaded/installed offers if you aren't paying attention and leave the box(es) ticked when updating.
This issue with the new CC browser 'hijacking' the file associations is just the latest consequence if you inadvertently download/install the browser.
TBH most browsers do this when you first install them, CCleaners browser is not unique in that respect.

Because it's basic (no error handling), specific to my particular machine, and only cleans the browsers/apps that I actually use, it's like a rocket.
It will finish a clean of cookies, supercookies, browser history/cache, some recent file lists, etc. in about half a second. (Less time than it takes a cleaning app to launch).
It also cleans some Windows stuff, but I generally leave that to Storage Sense to handle on a daily schedule.
