Issues with -column-width that might affect Rangy class applier module

Hi, 

While using rangy in my project, I noticed that Firefox does not handle dynamically adding span elements to existing elements with the -column-width CSS property. Basically, I was making selections with Rangy and using the class applier module to "highlight" a selection in an multi-columned DIV. When you do this on Firefox, the multi-columned layout just breaks. 

I added a question to Stack Overflow to see if anyone had a solution. This not only affects Rangy, but any other code that dynamically adds SPAN elements to other elements with -column-width CSS property. I just wanted to make you aware. Thanks!
