Question regarding serializing with Rangy (getClientRects() returns nothing

We are using the Rangy library over here for our highlighting of text ranges and have run into a roadblock in being able to have it properly convey all of the Rangy object info after deserializing.  Any call to getClientRect() no longer gives us the highlight rectangle after the serializing and deserializing necessary to persist it to the server as JSON.  Have any of you run into this issue and have found a work-around?
