Tentative Outline: Primary Research Plan


What do we need to learn?
Our group topic is “Why Thai people don’t use much of public
transportation?” We will make a comparison between Public
Transportation in Thailand and US/UK. Our group members have to find
information on the troubles, inconveniences, and cultural influences
that discourage Thai people to use public transportation, and how to
encourage them to use it.

How are we going to get information?
Our group members will interviews experts from the following list:
• Ministry of Tourism and Sports
4 Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue, Bangkok 10100, Thailand.
Tel. (662) 283-1555 ext. 1668, 1532
• Thailand Ministry of Transportation

Our group members will survey non-experts. They will be people of
different ages living in different areas.
• Siam Square: Teenagers, Elders and Foreigners
• Sukhumvit: Teenagers, Elders and Foreigners
• Tha Prachan: Teenagers, Elders and Foreigners
• Nonthaburi(Suburb): Teenagers, Elders and Foreigners
We will be asking them about their opinions on the quality and
convenience of Thai public transportation and the factors that
encourage or discourage them to use Thai public transportation.

hey guys
just to update,
tomorrow, pinn and i will go interview the expert. he's someone
important from the ministry of transport so that'll be useful to our
paper! anyways, pinn's going to make changes to our survey for
foreigners today and she'll send it to me and i'll send it to pink.
this time 3 people will check it to make sure nth goes wrong again.
amp and krittin will make excel for thai survey results.
pink extended our deadline for foreigner until thursday march 12 since
we'll be changing the whole survey and all, we need more time.
also, we're aiming to send the 1st draft on march 12. tmr, we'll
distribute notecards so each person can write start writing their
paper.

Today I and kim just finished interviewing the expert who has been
known as a Director of Transportaion Division in Thailand "Mr.Krit
Kuatpanachart", So we have got many new informations for expert which
are very useful to our research writing primary research process!!
As we all know Krittin and Amp are responsible for the survey for thai
people, Pink is responsible for the survey for foreigner,
PiNn and Kim are also responsible for the interview for expert as
well.
I hope u guys will finish your work on time except Pink coz she
already extended her deadline for foreigner to Thurs, March 12.But the
rest of us have to hand it to me by this monday without any excuses
please!!

Remember!

Dont write your first draft unless you are ready to do so.


Getting +10% on a first draft I think is worth a "D" isn't as good as
taking your time, working on it, handing it in on time, and getting a
"B"


Also, Dont worry about page lengths when writing a first draft.
just write!
dont make it perfect, just get the ideas on paper
ultimately too long is better than too short
you should have some ballpark idea, but just say what you need to say


my first draft of Angkor Temple Complex was 80 pages when it only
needed to be 30.
its hard to decide what to cut, but when its done, all thats left is
the best stuff


if you write a ten page draft, four pages might be bad. thats harder
to fix than writing fourteen pages and getting rid of the bad four
pages.
