1st diary:
After we have changed the topic for a few times, we have come to the conclusion that our group paper deals with agriculture between Thailand and the United States.
We went to Pridi Library and found enough books for the topic, and we turned in 15 source cards which all of them were the book sources.
Also thesis statement and tentative outline were typed up and turned in.
We are finding more sources, including the online ones. Each member is expected to have at least 3 new sources for next week.
Over the weekend we are making some note cards.

2nd diary:
We have the total of 52 source cards and about 60 note cards this week. Most of the cards are from the online source.
As we did the note cards, we could see that in some books we couldn't find many useful information, while in some we could get a lot.
According to the interesting information we have found, we had chaged our thesis and outline a little.
Right now, we'll focus more on the issue of farmer and rice.
On Thursday class, we were suggested to be more specific on the slug topics. So we'll try to focus more on that.
Each of us will be doing 10 more note cards for next week.

3rd diary:
This week we have 155 note cards to hand in and the total of 94 source cards.
The primary research coordinator suggested that the interviewees should be the persons who work at the Ministry of Agriculture. But we need to see if we can contact them for the interview or not.
For the survey, the group members are interested in asking directly to the farmers(one of the members can get access to this easily), or, maybe, we should arrange the interview with some farmers to ask them questions at the same time as A.Trevor recommended.
So, now, we are preparing 10 more note cards, bringing together 50 note cards next week. The most current outline is becoming more specific also.

4th diary:
The primary research coordinator had made a call to the person we want to interview on Monday, but he couldn't contact them.
So yesterday, he called the Ministry of Agriculture but the person gave him another phone number to contact.
When he called the woman, she is the expert on rice, and willing to let us interview. And we will call her again when we are ready to interview her.
After that the primary research coordinator called one rice trader company, this time the man he talked to wasn't willing to be interviewed and kept saying that we should read about rice on the internet and he could do a phone interview.
That's why we're thinking about making it one interview and 2 surveys.
We did the interview questions for one person, the expert of rice, tomorrow we'll turn in 2 survey papers: for farmers and costumers.

5th diary:
As one of our group members did the survey from farmers, the rest of us did the consumer part.
We are gathering enough information and trying to categorize them.
Through the surveys, all of us found that many people are concerning about rice issue..

Good news: on Thursday three group members, including me, went to do the interview at the Rice Department in Kasetsart University.
(That was the reason why we missed the class yesterday.)
It was a long way, but it was worth it!
The person who primary research coordinator had contacted was out on her business, but, fortunately, we got to interview the head of the division of rice culture.
He was very nice, and we got all the information in 1 hour.
Yesterday half of the trascript is done, and another group member is working on the rest.

Today captain assigned each of us the part of first draft to work one over the weekend.
Hopefully, our first draft will be ready on March 12th.

6th diary:
Today the primary resouces were handed in: interview transcript and survey analysis.
Primary research coordinator went to Bangbuathong to do the survey with farmers, it was successful.
He said it was pretty hard because he had to go and talk to each of them at a time, but he did learn a lot from them.

The first draft process goes well, some of the members finish their parts, but we still have one day to do it.
Due to the lack of information, the comparison of rice and other aspects between Thailand and the U.S., we need to find more to fill in a subtopic.

7th diary:
As we finished our group first draft on time for the early deadline, we got our 'pheedback' on Thursday.
We see that there're many mistakes which we have to work on and the members will study the feedback and make the paper better in the second draft.

9th diary:
The members agree to hand in our group paper in April 23rd, so we can
have some more time to polish our work.
Now we are reading the paper again and going to make a topic sentence
for each of the paragraph.

10th diary:
As the members have done the topic sentences for each paragraph, we
see that there are many irrelevant information. And some of the
paragraphs can be added as a support in the previous paragraph.
The editor has assigned us to fixed our part and now we are waiting
for her to make a new arrangement of the paper.
Before the meeting after Songkran, we'll have our bibliography ready
to be checked.

In this Songkran holiday we are correcting our parts, and the process
is going well.
Editor has made some changes in the paper. And we all will be thinking
about the introduction and conclusion of the final paper.
