Hey All,

Here's a mail from Gaurav from the Pune chapter about the recent Pune field trip i had accompanied them on. The experience is a must read.
Thanks to Rohini/Rajani/Deepa/Rahul for opting out so that we could accommodate the new members from Pune chapter.

Hi Smita,

I must thank you for organizing today's field trip because it was not
only enriching experience but was an eye opener in a sense of seeing
the real impact of microfinance at grassroot level.

Also, very impressed with the work of Parvati swayamrojagar. They have
took care of telling us their business model, work done with so much
interest that our initial plan of spending 1 hour with them extended
to 2 hours and they have very kindly told us every miniscule details
without any hesitance.I have met few MFI's in past but have not seen
such enthusiasm, grounded attitude and clear thoughts on this sector. So
please pass our gratitude to them.

Meeting the end borrowers has also provided me a very different
perspective because Rang de loan are majorly education loans in pune
as of now and seeing the urge of parents to educate their girl child
even at the cost of loan really made me think that Yes, India is
changing.

There was only one request from Parvati swayamrojagar that Rang de's
time to process the loans should be decreased to max15-20 days due to
nature of loans (education loans) because borrowers generally need
these loan to pay the fees of schools/tuitions which cant wait till
Rang de disburse the loans.Due to this, they have lost on many needy
people in past.

So one again, i am really thankful to Rang de for giving us this
opportunity and look forward to experience more of such trips in
future.

Many Thanks,
Gaurav

that's good.

just would like to share that generally i select those borrowers first whose 80% + requirement is fulfilled so i invest the balance amount so as to complete the requirement of the borrowers.
