chapter meet updates

Hey All,

Just jotting down the things we discussed at the chapter meet yesterday.

a) Mumbai Marathon 2011 - Top priority for the next few weeks : 

   Getting both individuals and corporates to run for our cause.

   Brief : 

   A corporate sending an employee team to run for RangDe  pays 2 lakhs for a team of 15 or

   3 lakhs for a team of 25.

   We are targeting to get atleast two corporates. The registrations for this have begun and will go 

   on till 30th Sept.

   Any individual (including all of us) running for the marathon has to pay the 500 entry fee and raise a minimum 

   of Rs 3000. Need a quick confirmation from all of you planning to run. Since this is a little differnt from the original 

    plan we discussed, we need all of you to send confirmation if you will be running for RangDe.

b)  Concert: We have currently put the BlueFrog plan on hold and are looking for new venues/band for

   a concert within the next 2-3 months. If you have any ideas do tell us.

c) Getting more social investors : We brainstormes on ideas for events to organise for publicising about 

RangDe and getting more social investors.

Some of the ideas were

Tieup with online communities on facebook, twitter and talk to them about RangDe.

Tieup with some coffee shops, misic shops to distribute rangDe bookmarks etc with their products.

Sell merchandise like diwali/new year cards etc with info about RangDe to corporates.

In my opinion this kind of events are just to get the visibility amongst the participants as well as viewers.Another way to participate in this event could be to approach the participating CORPS as well as individuals to carry RANGDE LOGO /HOARDING alongwith their own.Knowing RANG DE's mission/objective many of them may agree to do the same.SCB organizers may help us get connected with them.

 

RANG DE is a platform which sits between SI's and MFIs  and they are our targets to reach.MFIs can be reached directly as they are few hundreds all over India.The challenge is to connect with the SIs thru diffeterent routes as they are in millions spread all over the world.Obviously internet/web is the fastest,cheapest and most effective option.They can also be reached through the media,by  the volunteer efforts , events they attend and places they go.

 

I think targetting the SIs OVERSEAS should be the top priority for obvious reasons like spend power,willingness to do something for the country etc.Again the same tools can be used to connect with the overseas Indians/SIs.

 

Also there would be first time SI who is careful and want to see how this works and the repeat investors.You need different programs for both  to attract/help them invest more.

 

I am just sharing my initial thought to start with.

For those who've given their names earlier or updated on the Wiki, please 

send a confirmation here since the rules of the participation have changed.

Recap of the current rules as per the SCMM 2011 charity structure

Any individual* (including all of us) running for the marathon has to
