To date 2/26/23, is the SR600 program defunct?
Hi all,
Do not know if it’s the right email to propose this idea. But what about a Climbing Serie where the average slope is superior or equal at 2% ?
I personally will be very interested by this type of rides J

Subject: Re: [RUSA] ACP Randonneur 10,000, and Super 600k--the rules are changing
Jim….. as Kitty, Dave, Mark and JLE have already mentioned, the ACP has created their own hilly 600km requirement, and going forward, will no longer accept the original SR 600km, ridden after October, 2022, for their Randonneur 10,000 Award, but that should not detour anyone, as the original SR 600’s are some of my favorite rides…. Ever !!!!!!!
So, if you’ve not already done a SR 600, and you are going to PBP and chasing the Randonneur 10,000 award, you’ll need to do one of the ACPs new 600kms with 8,000 meters of climbing in 40 hours, to check that one box.
But, if you are not going to PBP, and not chasing the Randonneur 10,000 Award, or even if you are, nothing’s else has changed for the original Super Sixes, and I’d highly recommend that you give one of these “Alive and Well” SR 600kms AKA Super Sixes a go.
Gather a few friends, pick one of these amazing routes, make a plan, and go ride one or more, I think you’ll be very glad you did.
I’ve ridden 11 different SR 600kms in the USA, and couldn’t have better memories. There is a huge sense of Adventure associated with these rides. Riding them with others builds memories that will last a life time. Seeing these remote parts of our country is eye opening. Who knew Utah, Arizona, Georgia, and so many other parts of the USA were so beautiful. These Super Sixes are a great excuse to ride the Catskills, The Blue Ridge Parkway, ride in different states…...JLE’s Colorado SR 600km was spectacular, without being so remote that we had to purify our own water from a creek ;=) For me, these experiences are in line with 1,200kms, but with some extra special twists, that make them, more unique.
They are permanents, you can calendar them when they work best for you.
Many Thanks to Mr. Bill Beck, who’s done so much work to promote these spectacular rides. Thanks also to Dave for his help getting the below Award approved and in the RUSA Store. Thanks to Charlie for his web work. Thanks to Pam Wright who customizes the below Awards, available to RUSA members, who’ve completed a Super Six…. Don’t you want one ;=)
