Zwift 100K "Virtual Permanent Populaire" (Saturday - 8:00 AM ET)

Dear Friends,

With winter upon us, it's time to log some serious training miles. Please join us for a 100K "virtual permanent populaire" (unsanctioned, of course) on Zwift's lovely Petit Boucle route on Saturday, January 6. Rollout is at 8:00 AM ET. The gang stays together through the magic of Zwift's invisible rubber band. We'll take a short nature break at 50K.

To participate, you'll need to "follow" me on Zwift for an "invitation." Hope you can make it. Based on past events, I suspect there will be plenty of puns, fond recollections of days gone by, and maybe just a wee bit of boasting.

Great ride today! 20 riders clipped in this morning for the first Hudson Valley Randonneurs Virtual 100K of the season, and 13 brave souls hung on for the Full Monty. There were puns aplenty as well as dad jokes and mischievous wordplay. Riders from at least nine states and two time zones joined us for this exciting ride around the Petit Boucle route. With Chip C. dragging us around the course, our group finished the 100K with 2474’ of climbing in an impressive 3 hours and 6 minutes, which included a 5-minute nature break at the 50K control.

Next up in our 2024 Virtual Permanent Populaire Series? Join us in Scotland for several laps of the Muckle Yin route on Saturday, January 20 at 8:00 AM ET. Did I mention there will be non-virtual trinkets for finishers? Tell your friends, tell your family. Be sure to “follow” me on Zwift for an invitation. Hope to see you there.
