Humboldt Randonneurs is happy to report a successful running of its first
Grand Randonee, a point-to-point event from Eugene, Oregon to Santa Rosa,
California!

The route was challenging for riders with substantial climbing along the
coast, particularly on the third day after riders already had some 400
miles in their legs, they were met with an additional 15,000 ft of climbing
along California’s Lost Coast. This was buffered by favorable winds and
cool, coastal temperatures and truly stunning scenery.

Thanks, Dave! I was just wondering when LRM plans for 2026 might be taking shape. Is there a target date when the international calendar is released?

Thanks,

At the moment, there are 10 on tap. The list isn't final until the RBAs
put the events on the schedule but having the list may help you with your
2026 planning. There's a lot to choose from!

Submissions from countries used to be due mid October and the LRM schedule updated soon after that.   The current LRM president,  Tal Katzir, accepts future years so I see a gradual schedule buildup taking place in the fall

LRM wants the calendars from participating countries no later than Oct. 31st. RUSA's goal is to submit in early October after the board reviews all "2026" submissions. However, LRM can't publish a full worldwide calendar until all countries have submitted calendars. Look for something from LRM in early November though it could be later.

Tal seems to update the calendar as he receives dates from countries.  My recollection from last year is that there were still countries outstanding in December, e.g. India and countries advertising their rides with fliers that hadn't been sent to LRM yet.

Thanks for setting this up, Grant. With the help of creative RBAs like you, I’m going to have the best retirement! I just need to hang in a few more years . . .

Registration for what I believe is a novel event, the Rouleur Week is now
open. Come join us in November for what I hope will be a great week of
riding, exploring and hanging out with your fellow randonneurs.

The idea is to have a fun social week of riding at a time when the weather
is typically very nice in the region. We have 4 new routes over the 7 days
but there will be rides on each day including a team event. This is a great
opportunity to complete a Rouleur award, add some k’s to your annual
distance award or gather some more routes for your Scout award. It’s a
flexible event, if you want to ride some or all of the days it’s up to you

The event starts on Monday November 3 and finishes up on Sunday the 9th but
you can come join us for any or all of the days. For the team event we will
form teams for anyone who doesn’t have their own.

More detailed information on routes, timing and additional details can be
found on the Rouleur Week page
<https://slorandonneur.org/2025-brevets/rouleur-week/>.

Let me know if you have any questions, I’ve probably forgotten some
important details as running a week long event is new to me.

Thanks
