Good morning,
Nebraska will be running a brevet tour starting May 31st. It will cover the same roads as the last Nebraska Sandhills 1,000 K starting in Ord, NE.
5/31: 237 km Ord to Valentine
6/1: 147 km Valentine to Gordon
6/2: 210 km Gordon to Alliance (with a control at Carhenge)
6/3: 200 km Alliance to Thedford
6/4: 165 km Thedford to Ord
John Ende wrote about the 1,000 K version:
Finally, a couple other things to think about.
1) Rouleur Award: For those riders looking to earn the award, this tour will earn you three distances on your way (125 km, 150 km, 200 km)
2) For those riders with PBP 2027 in the future. Five days on the bike can help sort out any contact area issues.
3) Previous riders have been pleasantly surprised by the terrain as most people who have traveled through Nebraska have done it on Interstate-80. The low traffic roads have also put a smile on many seasoned randonneurs.
Ride lots,
Spencer Klaassen
