I've been using Speedplay Frog pedals, and their predecessor Magnums, for 30 years due to knee issues.

Now that it looks like there is very little chance of obtaining cleats and other parts for  Frog pedals I'm looking for a replacement that offers the same functionality: free float and recessed cleats (i.e. walkable with "mtn bike" shoes).  Any suggestions welcomed, especially those based on extensive experience.

And if you happen to have a stash of cleats that you're willing to part with please let me know...

Thanks

I had Frogs for many years and liked them. Ten years ago I tried Crank Bros Candy pedals and I like them more, just as much play without feeling like being on ice. They have a rebuild kit and are super easy to maintain and rebuild.

Has the Frog model been discontinued? (Seems like the product page is still up on the site... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Thanks!

Yep, they're no more.
I used to use Frogs, but also switched to Crank Bros Candy pedals  and cleats some years back.

Wahoo/Speedplay just announced their road pedal lineup.  It might merit waiting to see where that are going with mtn/spd style pedals.

I've also used frogs for forever.  I like the float and walkable cleat, though am struggling through some hot foot issues.  Alas, it's not so easy to resolve as shoes and pedals aren't cheap, and hot foot issues tend to take 100km+ to show up.

So sad. I've been using light action walkable cleats for a long time.
No idea what to do for a replacement that is a walkable road cleat.
Also prefer the 2-sided pedal.
