Hey Everyone. I realize this is a longshot but if anyone would know, they would be here.

I broke my Shutter Precision SV-9 hub (the tiny one) which is on my Brompton. I suspect the problem is that the small
electrical cable from the hub winding to the terminal block has broken. Has anyone serviced one of these? I would need
access to the underside of the terminal block assembly.

Hey Jake, I took my SV-8 apart to replace the bearings last fall.  I was able to get it all back together again, but I haven't put any miles on the wheel since then, so long-term success is unknown:  https://www.bikeforums.net/electronics-lighting-gadgets/1186586-shutter-precision-hub-bearing-replacement.html

If you do take yours apart, please keep us posted!

Hi Jake,

I simply sent mine back to Shutter Precision.  The cost of service was TWD 1000, which at the time was US $33.   I was a bit annoyed at having to disassemble the wheel, but you have to do that (or, at least half of it, as illustrated by thermionicscott) to get the hub apart, and obviously the postage is much less for the hub alone than for the whole wheel.

SP was really fast with the repair.  You can order "bearing replacement" here: https://www.sp-dynamo.com/service.html.   They refunded my payment when they determined that my issue was covered by their warranty.

In your case,  if the problem is electrical rather than mechanical, you might send them an email and see what they say.  I was pleasantly surprised by how helpful they were.  (I bought my hub on Craisglist and had no receipt).

Thanks to everyone who commented. The followup is anticlimactic.

I bought the hub off ebay and contacted the seller who I think is an agent of SP directly. He was friendly and told me he'd
ship me a replacement hub right away and paypal reimburse me for sending the old one back once I rebuilt the wheel.

But before I got that far I tried rotating the connector tab about 20 degrees on the hub body (you shouldn't be able to do
that) and surprisingly the hub regained life. It's possible that on the SV-9 terminal block as an internal spring contact
connector instead of a wire and that pin had gotten out of position with the pad connected to the magnets.

As a plug (pun intended) for SP, I have a bunch of their hubs and they are a good value for the money. I've only had one
get a worn bearing. Emily was headed to Taiwan for a music festival and I was planning to ask her to bring that hub with
her to save the $30 postage sending it in for service. (The trip got delayed a year.)
