As I indicated in earlier post, I have been thinking about using Rinko fenders to streamline travel with my coupled bike, but I am reluctant to cut them myself, and I don't fully understand how the bolts sold by Compass work.  I have since discovered that Honjo sells such fenders in Japan, but no one seems to be importing them.  I found one supplier, though, who will ship them from Japan.  The cost is not outrageous; hammered fenders would cost me about $150, even with a 4,000-yen shipping charge.  I have pasted in the link before.

I have a couple of question.  First, about sizing.  I can't tell if these will fit my 700C x 38 mm. tires.  Here's what the listing says: Fits tires sizes: 26*1-3/8; Includes: H40-CD700 26 & 27inch compatible.  Does this mean that it will fit only 26", or 650B, tires, or will it accommodate larger 700C tires?

Secondly, is anyone aware of a supplier who will sell a broader range of Hanjo Rinko fenders?  It sounds like a full range of such fenders is available in Japan.

Here's the link to Alex's Cycle:

Best wishes,

More careful scrutiny of the listing shows that these are not hammered but smooth fenders.

Not answering your question, but I have done business with Alex's Cycle. They are reliable.

On my rando bike, I have Honjo smooth aluminum fenders for "local" riding but prefer to take my chromoplastic fenders when I fly with the bike in the S&S case.  I place the fenders around the perimeter of the deflated front tire and push the wheel into the silver S&S hard case, fits perfect..  I stop the fender stays from rattling by immobilizing with a couple of elastic bands through the wheel spokes.  I've found the aluminum Honjo's just aren't worth the bother for travelling.  Something to consider...

Without going into much detail, here is a practice Rinko fender I made using the compass Rinko nut and a split front fender. You can see the Rinko nut installed on the inner tang. Not answering your question either but just showing how the Rinko nut is used.
