And they're off!
This year's LEL is much longer with 128 hours allotted to cover the 958 mile course. The extra mileage was added so that the turnaround would truly be in the exquisite city of Edinburgh. The website says 930 miles, but 1540km is 958 miles and shows as such on Ride with GPS:
American riders Mark Thomas, Brian Feinberg, and John Marino are among those who are riding this year. I'm not sure who else is riding since there is no directory.
Here are the links to follow the riders. You need to know their first or last name.
Thankfully, the weather is predicted to be spectacular over the route! Quite the contrast from the worst weather in the history of the ride in 2017.
Greg and I loved this ride in 2017 in spite of the tough conditions (Greg finished and I abandoned at 1200 km). The Audax UK folks & volunteers are wonderful and we had a great experience!
Bonne Route to these adventuresome riders!
