Just planting a little seed. Lone Star Randonneurs plans to host The Texas Rando Stampede on May 1st, 2013. 7 of the 8 Randos that earned the American Randonneur Challenge Award in 2011 used the early season Texas Rando Stampede to facilitate this 2 in one year 1,200 km Award http://www.rusa.org/cgi-bin/awardlist_GF.pl?award=arc .
