Some believe the Tea Party movement in the United States offers a chance to advance the idea of liberty. Political candidates, such as Senate hopeful Rand Paul, claim support from the Tea Party. Others deny that the movement has anything to do with liberty. There are many questions about the Tea Party: Will it last and change politics or is it just a reflection of economic bad times? Will it be co-opted by the Republican establishment or just ignored? What will its impact be in the November elections?

The rising influence of the youth vote and the increasing volume of those proclaiming "liberty!" threaten to shift the political climate from the status quo. Are these factors simply overblown hype? Or are they backed by the winds of true change?

Please join Cato On Campus and interns from across the country at the Cato Institute for a lively discussion of the hottest topic in American politics, the future of the Tea Party movement.
