Here's the "official" Facebook event for the annual RVG Christmas Tree run. Please RSVP to join in the fun - and let me, Gary Brumley or Yolanda  Combs know if you can't access it and need to be added to the invite list.

https://www.facebook.com/events/953240231379038/

If you're not on Facebook, here are the details - though I can't be responsible if anything changes. :-P

Get your cameras charged & ready! Let's get together for a run & a quick pic at the Christmas tree in Sundance Square. We will start at the Panera parking lot. Gary Brumley has put together a 10 mile route & 7 mile route. Or come up with your own route...or you can meet us there! I hope you can all make it! This is not to any particullar group, all are welcome! Feel free to invite others!

Here is the 10 mile route. Gary also put together turn by turn directions. I will print those out and have them at the start.

Here is the 7 mile route

Happy Holidays!

FYI, lots of info has been posted (Thanks, Gary!) to the Facebook event - https://www.facebook.com/events/953240231379038/ - In case you're not on it, here are highlights (and there is a downloadable/printable PDF version at http://bit.ly/1RIPFUD)

Weather:
If the forecast holds, the rain/storms should hold off until after our run.  Fingers crossed!

Parking:
We’ll begin and end at the at the Trail head at Riverfront Dr and S Univeristy Dr. There’s 26 spots available at the trail head and side street parking along Riverfront Dr. Limited parking is available at Panera lot but let’s be kind and not completely fill up their lot. There’s also a few spots in the Hoffbrau steak house lot.

Routes:
There’s a 10 mile and a 7 mile route option. Both arrive at the tree roughly around mile 3.7.
Fort Worth Running Company (Thanks, Tamara!) is graciously supplying fluid along our courses. There will be fluid stations with water and Powerade at the following locations:
  • Mile 2 – along the Trail
  • Mile 4 – at Sundance Square
  • Mile 7 – in front of the
  • Mile 10 – at the finish
Photo:
We’ll meet at Sundance square for one big group photo in front of the Christmas Tree between 7:35-7:40 AM. To avoid passing around 50 cameras, we’ll have one designated photographer for the group pic. After the run, the photo will be posted on FB (on this Christmas Tree Run event page) where you can download, share, tag yourself, etc.  [I'll also email a copy to this list -Andy.]

Starting Times:

The goal is to get everyone to the Christmas tree for a group pic between 7:35-7:40 AM. Your pace will determine time your pace group should start. The following chart might help. And remember, this is a social run, not a race.

(We won't be too strict on time. Just trying to avoid people waiting too long for others or anyone missing the pic.)

Breakfast
Stick around after the run and grab some breakfast with us at Panera!

See ya tomorrow!
-Andy
