All,

For anyone who reads these emails, save the date for April 13th for a run from the Cowtown office.  They are planning on hosting a run on Sat, April 13. They will provide water, Poweraid and snack foods (no pancakes this time, but we may do potluck breakfast - I'll let you know).  Gary will create a route or we will use the Running Family's route.

For this week, the 10 mile route for this Saturday starts at Panera's/Huffbrau at 7 am, takes the Trinity Trail to the west, crosses the low water crossing nearest to Hulen Street and hits Ranchview hill...through Tanglewood, Park Hill, the DuBose outer loop, behind and along the zoo, and back to Panera's.  The route comes to 10 miles.

The course directions are attached; be sure to bring a copy.  Here's the map of the route:

Hi gang,

A very sweet colleague of mine has a 2012 Ford Fusion for sale.  It's got just 20K miles on it with remaining mfg warranty.  If I understood her correctly, she's willing to let it go for the payoff and is hoping to move it quickly.  If you're interested, please contact Jakeena Hobson-Sweet at keeh...@yahoo.com and I'll let her give you the rest of the details.

;-)
Lori
Curt, would you please pass this on to the Running Family?  Thanks dahling!

I am new to this group and haven't met with y'all to run yet, but I'm planning to join this Saturday, the 12th.  However, I'm currently training for the Dallas Full Marathon in December and needing to do 15 miles this week, so is anyone planning to meet early to run and then catch up to the 7a group?

Thanks,
Sandy H.

I am organizing a group run of the Cowtown Half course on Sunday, February 9th at 8:00 a.m.  We will run the whole half course Smile It s for those who are volunteering and can’t run race weekend and those who want to “test” the course.  We will set up a time clock at the start/finish, have a vehicle out there to “support” us, but it is mostly self supported.  I am trying to get someone to bike the course in front of us so we stay on course without having to look at papers/reading!  Let me know if you are interested in running with us!!!

In football, you might get your bell rung, but you go in with the expectation that you might get hurt, and you hope to win and come out unscathed. As a distance runner, you know you’re going to get your bell rung. Distance runners are experts at pain, discomfort, and fear. You’re not coming away feeling good. It’s a matter of how much pain you can deal with on those days. It’s not a strategy. It’s just a callusing of the mind and body to deal with discomfort. Any serious runner bounces back. That’s the nature of their game. Taking pain.

All!

I sent this survey info a few weeks back on behalf of Elizabeth Eder.  Please take a few moments to fill this out.

"Are you interested in giving back to the Trinity trail system? Please take a minute to complete this short survey as RVG plans for a Saturday volunteer river-clean up day! Your responses are much appreciated!  Access the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/D99LCFF."

Also, several people have asked me when are we are going to 6 am start time?...when it gets HOT!  Seriously, probably late May, but no later than June 1.

For this week, the delightful 10 mile route for this Saturday starts at Panera's/Huffbrau at 7 am, takes the Trinity Trail to the west, crosses the low water crossing nearest to Hulen Street and hits Ranchview hill...through Tanglewood, Park Hill, the DuBose outer loop, behind and along the zoo, and back to Panera's.  The route comes to 10 miles.

All,

Happy Halloween everyone!  Once again, it will probably be a low turnout.  DRC Half is on Saturday and some other people can't make it as well (including myself - who will do my best not to crash at Big Cedar mountain bike race).  Good luck to those running DRC and any other race this weekend!

For those that can make it, we have the highly acclaimed 10 mile route for this Saturday starts at Panera's/Huffbrau at 7 am, takes the Trinity Trail to the west, crosses the low water crossing nearest to Hulen Street and hits Ranchview hill...through Tanglewood, Park Hill, the DuBose outer loop, behind and along the zoo, and back to Panera's.  The route comes to 10 miles.

There is a Cowtown Marathon Holiday Open House tonight from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Cowtown Office at 1612 Park Place Ave, 76110.  Light refreshments will be served.

The next 2 weeks will probably be a little lighter on the turnout.  Isle du Bois is this Saturday and Dallas (White Rock) is the following weekend.

Sorry to email all of you. This message is for Gabriella. I lost my phone and have no other way to communicate with her.
I won't be running tomorrow. I need to run quickly from home and then go get a new phone before work.  Sorry.
Ola
