This Saturday we have the fabulous reverse Bailey route.  We start from the Panera/Hoffbrau parking lot at 7 AM.

 

The directions are attached.

 

Also, there is a new Corner Bakery opening up on May 6th near the Tom Thumb on Hulen & Bellaire - it's in the old Blockbuster location.  I know this has been the location of our 5th Saturday run, but our next 5th Saturday is not until the end of June.  So, we will plan a run from there next month so we can check out the brand new Corner Bakery.  There are many running options from there so we do not have to do the Ridglea route.  We will do this either May 11 or May 18.

For those that have not yet heard, I broke my right hand mountain biking in Winter Park, CO last Friday.  Good thing I'm left-handed!  I'm having outpatient surgery tomorrow afternoon.  The Dr. thinks it will go good.  I will be MIA on running for a while, but plan on making breakfast's.  I would type more, but it's a pain typing one-handed :-l

Attention:

 

There is construction on the Trinity Trails - NS! :).  It's possible that the trail could be closed at I-30.  Also, I heard there might be a detour at the zero mile mark at Panther Pavilion.  Just be prepared.  If the trail is closed at I-30, we will do a 180 and do the 1st Saturday route.  Otherwise...

 

This Saturday we have the ultra-scenic reverse Bailey route.  We start from the Panera/Hoffbrau parking lot at 7 AM.

The Christmas tree in downtown Fort Worth was getting decorated today - plan on being at the run next week, November 30th for the annual RVG Christmas tree run.

We have a guest runner with us tomorrow--and I mean in addition to Blair Kuhnen! Someone I have only heard about and never met, she's 13 and is FAST. (Friend of my boss's daughter)  I promised to find someone to run with her. Her name is Jamie, she is visiting from Austin will be going at a 7:30 or 7:40 minute mile pace and will be running with us only one hour. Then her parents will pick her up along our route--my guess is around the Amon Carter.

Any of you planning on doing a 7:40 please let me introduce you to her. I will not be going out that fast manana.

I hope everyone in the Ranchview gang takes time out occasionally to thank Randy for sending out the route each week.  I did this for a year or two in the early years of RVG, and it does take some effort and attention to detail. 

 

Even though I seldom get to join RVG runs any more since I defected to the Luke’s Fit program, I still think Randy deserves three cheers:

And for the record, the lovely reverse Bailey route has always been my favorite!

Don't forget about the Cox Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon on...Thanksgiving Day of course.  There is a 5k as well.  However, Sarge once told me "it's not worth getting out of bed for a 5k"  Seriously, running a 5k is more than most people will do that day - so do either one.  If anyone is interested, let's do a quick group photo before the start.  Here is the link to register - http://thanksgiving5000.athlete360.com/

ALSO - the Saturday following Thanksgiving Day is the 5th Saturday of the month.  We usually do something different for the 5th Saturday and this time is no exception.  We will do our annual RVG Christmas tree run and photo that day.  So, pencil this in for Saturday, November 29th.  I hope we have a HUGE RVG turnout!!
