Hi-

I am trying to PXE boot rancherOS in the VM environment where only serial console is available. By configuring the PXE boot kernel parameters, i am able to verify the PXE boot itself is successful from the serial console output. But after the OS passes the 'console' control over to the system-docker 'console', the 'console' docker container does not display any output on the serial console anymore. The final output I got was "[0004] RancherOS v0.3.1 started".

Any idea how to manually configure the serial console setting in this 'console' docker image in the PXE image i downloaded? Any help/hints will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Riyao

Hi,

We currently haven’t tested out using RancherOS with PXE as we recommend using iPXE.

Can you clarify what PXE image you downloaded?

I’d like to move this conversation into forums.rancher.com? If there is enough people wanting to use PXE with RancherOS, we can look to add it to our roadmap.

Thanks
Denise
