National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Chandigarh has been established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India for the development of Technical Education. The institute has excellent laboratories, library, computer centre and modern reprographic and other production facilities. The institute offers short term courses in the areas of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Educational Management, Entrepreneurship Development, Rural Development, Applied Science and Computer Science. Other prime areas include: R&D activities, Curriculum Development, Rural Development, Entrepreneurship Development, Educational film production, extension services to MHRD etc.
The Civil Engineering Department was established in the year 1967 along with the inception of the institute. Over the years the departments have grown and at present are equipped with full-fledged laboratories to provide on-the-job training for technical institutes and also cater to the demands of industry.
The Department is organizing a one week Faculty Development Program on "Sustainable Education Campus Design" in Online Mode through Google Meet from 17-21 Aug 2026 for teachers and technical staff of engineering colleges and polytechnics and industry professionals from all over the country. ME/PhD research scholars can also attend the FDP. The various rules for attending the FDP are available on our institute FDP portal.
A 12 hours Autodesk Faculty Development Program on Autodesk Forma for Construction covering practical knowledge of modern digital construction workflows and industry-leading construction management technologies is also a part of this program only. Autodesk Completion Certificate upon successful participation shall also be provided.
The course details are attached herewith along with registration details. The course is useful for all branches and fields.
