Dear Colleagues,

Chapter proposals are invited for an upcoming Routledge edited volume tentatively titled: Rethinking Social Policy: Global Challenges in Health, Education, and Equity

The volume will be published under the newly accepted Routledge series Multidimensional Aspects of the World Economy, edited by Prof. Ramesh Chandra Das.

The book aims to critically examine how contemporary global transformations are reshaping social policy, welfare systems, and inequalities across different regions of the world. The volume particularly welcomes interdisciplinary contributions that connect social policy debates with broader economic, demographic, technological, environmental, and geopolitical transformations.

Possible themes include, but are not limited to:

  • Poverty, inequality, and social exclusion

  • Welfare state restructuring

  • Aging societies and long-term care

  • Health inequalities and catastrophic health expenditures

  • Education policy and social mobility

  • Digital welfare systems and algorithmic governance

  • Climate vulnerability and social resilience

  • Gender and inclusive development

  • Green transition and social justice

  • Urban inequality and municipal social policy

  • Labour precarity and social protection

  • Migration, displacement, and vulnerability

  • Public policy and sustainable development

  • Fiscal dimensions of social policy

  • AI, digitalization, and the future of welfare

The publisher particularly encourages internationally diverse contributions and comparative perspectives.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Chapter length: approximately 6,000–8,000 words

  • Referencing style: APA 7th edition

  • Maximum 3 tables/figures preferred

  • Original and unpublished contributions only

At this stage, prospective contributors are invited to submit:

  • Tentative chapter title

  • Abstract/proposal (250–400 words)

  • Author affiliations

  • ORCID IDs of all authors

Important Dates:

  • Proposal/abstract submission deadline: March 20, 2026

  • Planned submission of full volume proposal to Routledge: March 31, 2026

  • Estimated publication timeline: mid-2027

Please send proposals and inquiries to: aligokh...@gmail.com

I would be very pleased to receive your contributions and to collaborate with colleagues working on these important global issues.

Warm regards,

Dr. Ali Gökhan Gölçek

Dear Colleagues,

Please kindly note a small correction regarding the timeline mentioned in the previous Call for Chapters email.

The correct deadline for proposal/abstract submission is: May 20, 2026 (not March 20, 2026, as mistakenly written in the previous version).

Similarly, the planned submission date of the complete volume proposal to Routledge is: May 31, 2026

I apologize for the confusion and thank you very much for your understanding.

Warm regards,

Dr. Ali Gökhan Gölçek
