Greetings from the Gopalakrishnan-Deshpande Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GDC) at IIT Madras!

We are happy to announce that applications for the TDK India Incubation Centre (TIIC) Accelerator Program 2024 are now open.

The TIIC Accelerator Program 2024 is an initiative by TDK Corporation (TDK) in partnership with the Gopalakrishnan-Deshpande Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GDC), IIT Madras, to identify and nurture the most promising Health Technology innovations and startups in India.

Early-stage startups and researchers focused on health technology, diagnostic laboratories/services, wearable technology, state-of-the-art neuroelectronic interfaces, or other innovative technologies within the health-tech sector are encouraged to apply for the program.

The Program aims to transform highly promising innovations from universities, research labs, and startups across India (in the TRL 3 to TRL 4 stage of development) into investment-ready ventures by providing entrepreneurship training, technological support, business mentorship, and opportunities for partnership and investment.

Participating Teams will also benefit from TDK Corporation's network connections and may have selective access to its technical and manufacturing resources.

At the end of the Program, the most promising teams will have the opportunity to pitch to TDK Corporation for investments and/or potential business collaborations.

Application deadline: 27th July 2024, 12:00 midnight IST

Program Highlights:
  • Eight month-long program from August 2024 and completion in March 2025.
  • The program comprises two phases designed to accelerate the path to market of the selected teams/startups. Each phase would be about 8 weeks long.
  • After Phase 1, promising teams/startups may be eligible for an award of up to USD 5,000 from TDK. Further, select teams/startups could expect an additional grant from TDK for Phase 2 of the program.
To get started, please follow these steps:

  • Upon registration, you will receive access to the ‘Application Form’, where you can provide us with the necessary information about your project/business idea. Fill out the Application Form with all the required details. Our team will review your submission.
  • If you meet our selection criteria, our selection committee will invite you for an interview.
  • Following selection, we will extend an offer and plan the initial steps of your acceleration journey.

GDC and TDK will organise an online Open House session on 13 July 2024. This will be a 90-minute webinar on the details of the TIIC Accelerator Program, including a Q&A session.
