About Pentathon
Pentathon is being organized by National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Center (NCIIPC), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC) to engage young talent from the nation that can contribute to improve cybersecurity posture of Critical Information Infrastructure (CII).
Through this hackathon, a national pool of skilled and credible experts primarily from the educational institutions across the country will be setup to improve the quality and efficacy of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) of the CII entities.
Stages of Pentathon
This hackathon will have 2 stages wherein during the 1st phase, an online screening round like jeopardy-style Capture the flag (Flag) round to be taken by student teams on Web attacks, Network exploitation, privilege escalation, cloud focused exploitation, API Vulnerabilities, Mobile App exploitation, OT SCADA, Reverse Engineering etc. and during the 2nd Stage of the Grand Finale, which will be ethical hacking contest themed on Critical Information Infrastructure Protection would be given to students.
Who can participate?
This hackathon will be open for students from the HEIs and they can either participate individually or as a team (2 to 6). The individual or teams can have 1 to 2 mentors (optional) for this hackathon.
Winning teams
Winners from the hackathon will be rewarded with the prize money and later enrolled as Pentesters for CII by NCIIPC. They will be formally invited for real VAPT exercises with provision of remuneration upto to Rs. 10 Lakh for each exercise.
