Prizes Totaling 5 Million JPY
TRON Programming Contest 2026, technically co-sponsored by IEEE Consumer Technology Society, is a global competition offering a total prize pool of five million Japanese Yen. Leveraging the RTOS "μT-Kernel 3.0," compliant with IEEE RTOS Standard 2050-2018, this contest invites engineers and students worldwide to submit innovative programs in applications, middleware, development environments, and tools. Participants will utilize the latest microprocessor boards from top manufacturers, including STMicroelectronics K.K., Renesas Electronics Corporation, and Personal Media Corporation (micro:bit).
The contest emphasizes RTOS strengths—real-time performance, power efficiency, and small memory footprint—while encouraging cutting-edge development tools. The 2026 theme continues as "TRON × AI – Utilizing AI," challenging entrants to integrate AI with μT-Kernel 3.0, exploring new possibilities for embedded systems. As AI transforms the field, we seek submissions that adapt, learn, and innovate, shaping the next generation of technology. After an initial screening, selected entrants will receive advanced microprocessor boards (50 total available, ten of each of the five board types) from our partners to develop their projects.
