Orientation?

As a new member, I'm feeling disoriented. Are there just 3 messages (=topics?) so far? or are there other topics somewhere? Is there an explanation of recent history somewhere, to bring us up to speed? List of member organizations? Do you have general meetings (not the one that deals with a past OMB issue)?

Hi Eleanor! 

What great ideas! We've actually just started this board (and the idea of RANACA) just this last year. Right now it's pretty informal but I'll get on creating a list of contributors and a brief history on the landing page. 

Thus far, we've had one "summit" type meeting, and a second planned for March (I'll update the group with an invitation closer to the date) and the topics of discussion online are generally regarding: 

• governance
  
• fundraising
• volunteer engagement
• association issues

This discussion board recently grew out of a series of emails between the group, so with it's novelty we've not had a tonne of instances to help it grow and foster. But, don't be shy! If you have a topic or issue you'd like to put forward to the group: please do.

Okay, thanks for the background piece!  I'll get the hang of it, but I'm not sure I understand the messaging system here.  I posted a reply to the Garrison Park message, but I don't see it now in the message list.  Maybe it takes a while.  

Also, could I suggest that the list of members be augmented somehow to include the RA name?  (There are a few "info"s...)
