Earlier this month, one of DPCA's councillors (Mike Layton) had Projexity (an online crowdsourcing platform) present on how they can assist organizations like ours. They presented an idea on connecting the trail that runs above the buried Garrison Creek and as a CA on the Garrison creek line, I reached out to them for more information.

It turns out: they're amazing.

Their aim is to "improve our urban environments by enabling local individuals and organizations to efficiently gather the resources they need to get projects off the ground." and they've already taken on
Market 707's New Public Patio and they're invested in other projects as well. I know other RANACAs have used various methods to fund-raise and design projects for the community, and I feel this (like Indiegogo) is another great tool to add to our armoury.

Would any of our Associations along Garrison Creek be interested in working with Projexity?

You can contact me off list if you're interested!

Perhaps I'm not the only one who isn't sure where Garrison Creek is:  see map at http://www.lostrivers.ca/GarrisonCreek.htm, which shows it is (mainly) between Bathurst and Dufferin, from the lake to north of St. Clair.  And this description from Wikipedia:

"The stream had two sources, one north of St. Clair Avenue, near Humewood Public School, and the other northwest of the present-day Dufferin Street and St. Clair Avenue intersection.[1] The main course travels due south to south of King Street, where it turned to the southeast and emptied into Toronto Bay at the present-day intersection of Bathurst Street and Lake Shore Boulevard."
