End Mountain Top Removal Mining Movie Showing and Party!

Come to a movie showing and PARTY afterwards with Anti-MTR organizer (straight from coal country West Virgina) Charles Suggs. Bring instruments if you have them, especially for old time/blue grass music. Bring your dollars! We will have booze and food.

The fight to end Mountaintop Removal Mining is winning but we are at a crucial point where extra support is needed to actually stop MTR.The Obama EPA is moving to improve some standards, and initiated a veto process for one MTR mine. This isn't much, but it shows political momentum is growing...

Over the last 2 years, over 160 arrests have been made in the WV coal fields to stop MTR. Massey Energy and the state of WV are fighting tooth and nail to stop the protests: Recent non-violent direct actions have resulted in bail as high as $100,000 and Massey Energy attempting to sue activists for “damages” in three separate lawsuits.

Come learn about the devastating effects that mountain top removal and the insidious coal industry impose on the environment, workers, and people of Appalachia. All profits from the event will go to:
