Hello Teachers!
April 22nd marks the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day. If you're still looking for a fun and meaningful Earth Day activity for kids, join Rainforest Action Network's Earth Day Poster Contest.
Download your poster contest kit and register for the contest now - the deadline for posters is April 16th!
Classrooms from around the world are sending this message to General Mills, maker of Cheerios, Trix, and many of America's most popular kids' cereals: Stop destroying Indonesian rainforests for palm oil to put in our breakfast cereal!
Palm oil is a major cause of rainforest destruction in Indonesia and Malaysia, as rainforests are clearcut to make way for large palm oil plantations. These plantations push Indigenous and forest-dependent communities off their land and destroy habitat for endangered orangutans, Sumatran tigers and elephants.
Register for RAN's Earth Day Poster Contest and help stop the needless destruction of precious rainforests.
Posters from the contest will be delivered to General Mills on Earth Day at their corporate headquarters in Minnesota. The winning class will receive $75 in gift certificates for school materials or a class party!
Thanks so much for helping General Mills make the right decision about how they source their ingredients.
Register for the contest and download the Poster Contest Toolkit.
