Hi everyone,
We are excited to announce a first "internal training" event organised by the RAMSES SNO. This first event will be a webinar by Noé Brucy, introducing git fundamentals. Noé will cover basic git concepts for users (cloning the code, managing local changes) and for developers (creating a fork, a branch, merging, etc), and guide us through practical examples.
The webinar will take place next week, on Tuesday (July 2) or Thursday (July 4). Please fill up this doodle before this wednesday (June 26) to help us set the date promptly.
We will send the full announcement by the end of this week.
Best,
Jeremy

Dear all,

Noé Brucy's webinar on git fundamentals will take place today (July 4) at 2pm CET at this zoom link.

Title: Tutorial on Git fundamentals

Abstract: In this tutorial you will learn the basics of git usage in a collaborative context. You will learn how to clone a repository, review contributions, make new contributions and deal with conflicts.

Tentative plan:
1. What is git and what it is used for?
2. The vocabulary of git.
3. Accessing a git repository, reviewing code
4. Making new contributions
5. Branches and conflicts
6. Some useful tools

To do before the webinar:

To gain some time, please create in advance an account at github.com
(and possibly link an SSH key to your account as explained here).

Best,

Jeremy
