Hp 1160 Printer Driver For Windows 10

Helloin my new PC with Windows 10, I connected the LaserJet 1160 printer following the instructions HP, to install the driver "USB (DOT4) communication driver for Windows 8 and Higher (64-bit)" for the LaserJet 1160 printer, but unfortunately it does not work. When I connect the printer with the USB cable, the PC detects the model but can not find the driver. I also tested the universal driver for HP printers, but it does not work. It 's really strange that it does not even recognize the basic software for a simple print, first with the Windows 7 everything worked. Has anyone found the solution to this problem? Thank you.

I have a desktop running Win 10 Pro 64bit Ver 1803 that I successfully installed my HP LJ 1160 manaully using the Windows Update button (see pic) in 2018. I just got a new laptop (Win 10 Home 64bit Ver 1809) the other day and tried to install the same printer in the same manner as the desktop, but now it's not there anymore.

Yes GiantoD60 the HP site has a DOT4 driver, but that's only for the USB driver part and not the full print driver set. I took this a step further and downloaded several of the most recent Microsoft Catalog drivers for my system (even Win 8/7):

We also have print tracking software and I can include non-local printers(meaning not locally installed on the server with the print management software) in the software to be managed. Does your software not allow this?

I have had a lot of issues moving from 200/2003 print servers to 2008. If possible use the Printer Management mmc on the 2008 server to manage the 2003 server. You can then export the printer and driver and import them to the 2008 server. This process has work pretty well in most situations for me.

Right click the shared printer on the Windows 2003 Server server > Select Sharing > Select Additional Drivers > Check the x64 box. Browse to where your HP 64 bit drivers are located or download them again and select the .inf file.

To install the Dell B1160 Monochrome Laser Printer driver, download the version of the driver that corresponds to your operating systemby clicking on the appropriate link above. A window should then show up asking you where you would like to save the file. Save the driver file somewhereon your computer where you will be easily able to find it, such as your desktop. I would appreciate any help regarding installation of a working driver which will enable my Dell mono B1160 printer to operate. Too many hours I have spent trying to print from my Ubuntu computer to this Dell B1160 printer.Thanking all who have a suggestion on the driver and installation.

The problem is that it can't find libsane even though I installed it I guess because Ubuntu 18.04 appears to have new directory structure for so libraries that their check_packages.sh script doesn't understand.

Like the answer by @xpoback after installation completed I also had to remove the printers added by the install script and click the add button in the user interface to add it again before it started working.

There is no way around it - you need to configure the printer manually to make this work right, as the other modes are touch and go in many cases.

I have to disagree with your answer, Kelly. My suggestion to use the HP UPD bypasses the Windows Compatibility Center nonsense with a very good chunk of LaserJets. My 1012 "is not compatible with Windows 7", yet I can work around it like it's child's play anyway. The Windows Compatibility Center is a joke when it comes to many Laser printers other then HP, too. I will say many reports with Inkjets tend to prove true there but not so much with a laser printer.

However, because this answer isn't technically incorrect but it's ignoring the HP UPD I'm not going to downvote it. You do bring up a valid point but as a advanced user I have to disagree but I don't think that warrants a downvote.
