To Family and Friends,

I had an idea to read the censuses and make note of any of our family surnames that are recorded there. Rosario Penon is first because it may hold a key to ancestors who were Torres, Rodriguez or Ortiz. We know little about those families but they do make up the genealogy of Ana Antonia Torres Y Rodriguez' family and figure into the Ramos and Perez' trees.

As there were many cousins marrying, there is now a Torres Ramos family in Mike's tree from the same time as the Ramos Torres generation lived. Tato mentioned that Rosario Penon might be known as the 'La Sierra' area. It is the family of Joaquin Torres Y Rodriguez, who's father Ignacio Torres Y Figueroa lived with and who was about five houses down from Ana Antonia Torres Y Rodriguez. That would make Ignacio our Great Great Grandfather and, born in 1824, a witness to the founding of Rosario by Vicente Ramos Colon and Maria Florencia Ramirez de Arellano, our most probable Great x4 Grandparents.

Enclosed are the notes from the 1910 Rosario Penon Census. I am asking that if you have any stories about the families form this census or if they ring a bell in your memory let me know. Your memories are crucial in making the genealogy come alive, for we are so much more than simply the records of our births and marriages. We embody the hopes and dreams those who came before us struggled for on that noble tropical island.

Thank you for your time,

Victor Carlos Ramos

These are also my great grandparents X4: Vicente Ramos Colon and Maria Florencia Ramirez de Arellano, only that I have her as Maria Fulgencia. Am I wrong?
