I am using RADMIN remote control software to connect to a home PC running W7 x64. The Bitdefender firewall works fine except if I want to do a file transfer while I also using the remote PC screen it denies the connection. If I connect for just a file transfer it works but does not allow both features PC screen and file transfer to work at the same time. I can disable the firewall or turn off Stealth mode off on the Home PC (server) and both features work as they should. It appears the fire only allows one connection per rule no matter how many rules you add for the same connection for the same adapter.

Are you sure that all ports required for the RADMIN software are allowed? If you set the adapter to 'Full Trust' is everything working as it should? Do you have ICS enabled in the advanced settings?

Radmin says they only use one port assigment, 4899 is the default. I tried turning on ICS and also set the adapter to Full Trust with the same results only one feature works at a time. Here is what I see in the activity tab window when both features are working and Stealth mode is turned off.

I then imported the configuration files of my VPN provider. I tested both openvpn and wireguard clients and they connect to the remote servers. To be sure, I attached a smart tv to the LAN port of brume2, and the internet services work (youtube, spotify, etc.).

as a result, everything works local and remote. also, the tv can see the dlna server. now the question is to understand if the nas goes effectively through the vpn when connecting/connected to/from remote, LOL!

a last note (for the moment). After a few hours, I had to do some reconfiguration, because under VPN the NAS stopped to be reachable. The main dsl router and brume2 where however still accessible, so (almost) obviously the problem had to be in NAS configuration.

I will play a little bit with other configurations and topologies in the next days when I calm down
Fur sure I will try to follow your DMZ idea, in any case my dsl router is not from the ISP.
I have an old Netgear D6400.

Thanks again, I will try to follow these steps.
Meanwhile, I found out that having a DLNA server broadcasting outside its subnet is not that obvious and requires some good skills with OpenWRT.
Like you suggested, the purchase of a 5-port switch will be worth and easier, LOL!

If after installing Windows 10 update problems with connection to remote computer occur, you should download and install the latest Radmin Server 3.5.2. The new Radmin version includes improvements and fixes, ensuring correct operation of the Radmin Server after installing the update from Microsoft. Radmin 3.5.2 is available for download at www.radmin.com/download/Radmin_Server_3.5.2.1_EN.msi.

The permissions are held in your SQL database. So the best way is to use the interactive SQL application for your particular database (mysql for MySQL, sqlplus for Oracle, isql for Sybase and MS-SQL etc) and issue this command:

You can therefore use the $Radmin::CGIUtil::db to select a database to connect to when each script runs, and the user will continue using the same database as they follow the links within the Radmin pages. You could therefore use something like this in your Sql.pm:

If you have custom or non-standrard Vendor-Specific attribtues in your Radiator dictionary, you can get them into Radmin with this procedure. This procedure converts your Radiator dictionary into a form usable by RAdmin, and replaces the entire contents of the RADATTRS and RADVALUES tables.

I just want this server to be used not only by people from my local network, but also by people who are far away from me. The server itself is needed in order to use it to exchange large files, but for this you need Radmin vpn or another utility that can host for free

so everyone will install radmin on there computers? sounds like a simple torrent would be easier for share large files. Radmin is Windows only like chente said. using proton could cause big problems down the line.

If you give remote access to your local network through a VPN, you should be aware that you are giving access not only to the files, but to the entire network to the person who connects. I'm not sure if that's what you want, but this can easily be done in OMV using the openmediavault-wireguard plugin.

From my experience, based on the Gold edition of Age of Empires is that somehow it is not able to work /route over a TUN or TAP VPN. I made test with built-in tp-link OpenVPN, pf-sense and monowall Open VPN. Weirdly on the same computer /VM connected I was able to successfully play Age Of Mythology by entering the IP manually of the server. I did not tried yet this Defenitive Edition since it is unclear if I will be able to play occasionally with my friends like we used to do in LANFUN meeting by using just one account or if they need to subscribe (which will never be the case considering it is a monthly auto renowed things and this is not the principal game for them either )

Video from a simulation like X-Plane is not the same as video streamed across a network.

It's all about "rendering."

Streaming video from the web or from other file sources involves transmitting images and sound that are already rendered. In other words, all the work of creating what you see and hear has already been done.

On the other hand, a simulation like X-Plane is created one frame at a time and then presented on your monitor. So the computer has to have all of the resources that it needs to do that, and that includes your video card. It's a lot of work. When you attempt to stream X-Plane across a home network, you take the graphics processing ability of your video hardware out of the loop. Add to that the bandwidth issues that Lemon mentions, and you have a real nightmare of data processing and transmission.

Simply put, what you are attempting is currently impossible. But then again, what was absurd 15 years ago was eminently possible five years ago and is now obsolete. So we don't know what will be possible in the not to distant future when X-Plane 19 is released.

You can use Team Viewer. I would not actually try to fly with team viewer as the latency is to bad but I do use this to view X-Plane on my home PC while I am traveling to learn new aircraft or something new on the systems. This is how I learned all of the FMC functions on the JAR 330. Then when I got back i was ready to fly.

It's apparent from the log that your remote access software is interfering with the installer's attempts to use the OpenGL functions of your video card. I have a similar problem when I use TightVNC locally to fire up X-Plane before I climb into my cockpit. Team Viewer may be an option, but I've never tried it.

Knowing this, I have tried to launch the installer via scheduled task (with no session active) and then connect remotely, after a couple of minutes, being the result that I find it has crashed upon launch.

Running X-Plane remotely is something I do a lot when testing. I have a spare computer which I run "headless" over Gigabit Ethernet. The tests are automatic, and run for anything from 20 minutes to several hours, so I was not looking to fly via VNC, just set a test up and let it run. This is just as well, because it would not be satisfactory to attempt to fly the aeroplane with.

I should state that I am using Mac OS X for this, and nothing fancy: just the built in screen-sharing facility. I can choose between high quality, but low refresh rates, or compressed quality with high refresh rates.

Compressed quality seems to run a variable compression. If the view is static, it gradually fills in to full resolution. If there is a lot of animation, it drops the resolution and becomes very blocky.

If I turn on my computer with the monitor off, the TV remote resolution is stuck at 640x480. There are no other resolutions offered. All I have to do is turn on my monitor and the remote resolution instantly changes to 3840x2160 (what I want).. The behavior occurs with my Windows laptop, iPad and iPhone.

Good news. The behavior is exclusive to the display port. Last night, I connected an HDMI cable to the monitor (disconnected DP) and the problem is gone. Now, I can leave the monitor off, boot the computer and get 3840x2160 remotely. Would prefer to keep the display port connection, but this will work..

Please be advised that unfortunately, TeamViewer is getting the resolution that the Windows OS on the PC is offering, and that usually depends on what Windows is able to gather regarding the monitor that is connected to the system, therefore, if the monitor is not being recognized when it is off, Windows won't be able to offer other resolutions to TeamViewer.

You could alternatively try to install, if available, the drivers for the 4K Monitor, and then try to update it on the Device Manager so that it is recognized correctly by Windows, and not as a standard monitor. This way, it would be possible that Windows assumes the resolutions that the monitor is able to handle even if it is off, although, we cannot guarantee this.

As AMD said, without a monitor attached, windows does not know what resolution to offer and we do not have the ability to force non-native resolutions. You need to find some way of forcing the OS to create the correct resolution.
