One of my favourite movies about the Hindi film industry, Luck By Chance portrays Sona Mishra as an aspiring actress who hopes to get a big break in films with the help of a producer. I love how her character develops through the film: she evolves from being someone emotionally and professionally dependent on others to someone who has taken charge of her destiny and accepts life as it is. Konkona brings the perfect degree of optimism, confidence and gullibility to the character of Sona.

This 2002 Bengali film directed by Rituparno Ghosh portrays the story of Titli (Konkona), a teenager who has a crush on movie star Rohit Roy. As she travels with her mother to the airport to pick up her father, their car is stopped and they are requested to pick up a co-passenger whose car has broken down. Titli is pleasantly surprised as the man turns out to be none other than Rohit Roy. Her happiness is short-lived, however, as she learns that Rohit and her mother were lovers in their youth. She feels her mother has betrayed her and is heartbroken. The movie also explores the dynamics of a mother-daughter relationship and Konkona portrays Titli with the same immaturity, restlessness and curiosity that we all have as teenagers.

Abohomaan (English: The Eternal) is a 2010 Bengali-language film by Rituparno Ghosh, which explores the nuances of relationships through a married film director who falls in love with an actress who is the same age as his son.[1] The film stars Deepankar De, Mamata Shankar, Ananya Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Riya Sen and is produced by Mahesh Ramanathan, Reliance Big Pictures. Rituparno Ghosh, Arghyakamal Mitra, Mahesh Ramanathan and Ananya Chatterjee won National Film Awards in 2010 for Best Director, Best Editor Best Bengali Film and Best Actress respectively.[2] The film was screened in the Marché du Film section of the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.[3]

Aniket (Deepankar De) is one of the finest filmmakers of Bengal, Deepti (Mamata Shankar) is an actress, with whom he had fallen in love while casting in one of his films, who had sacrificed her career for love and marriage. Apratim (Jisshu Sengupta) is their only son. They had been a perfect family.

Rituparno Ghosh is a master storyteller. There is no doubt about that. He proves the point once again with his and Planman's latest production, Dosar.

Set in the backdrop of 21st century urban Kolkata and dealing with extra-marital affairs, the gripping storyline could have taken place in any metro.

The story starts off with the male protagonist (or antagonist, depending on your perspective) Koushik (Prosenjit) and his colleague-cum-beau Meeta (Chandrayee Ghosh) checking out of a hotel. Within a few minutes, you realise that Meeta is not his legitimate wife, but his companion dosar. Before you start wondering what next, their car is involved in a bad accident and Meeta dies on the spot. Though Koushik suffers multiple injuries, he survives. And that is when the film really begins.

Kaberi (Konkona Sen Sharma [Images]) rushes to the hospital, only to find out that her husband is critically injured. The agony, anger and grief combined with the uncertainty of whether he will live are portrayed beautifully by Konkona.

Initially, she refuses to take care of her husband and even sign on the hospital papers. She calls a lawyer to file for divorce and even fights with her brother-in-law, but things slowly change once Koushik is back home. The wife in Kaberi overpowers the woman in Kaberi and she accepts Koushik's infidelity as a one-time fault.

The storyline sounds simple and, perhaps, clichd. What makes it different is the treatment and the screenplay. Rituparno deals with human emotions very well and provides equal space and opportunity for all characters to develop. Specially the dilemma and dichotomy we face in today's world.

Sample this: While Kaberi is up in arms against Koushik for his infidelity, she doesn't think twice before supporting friends Chhanda (Pallavi Chatterjee) and Bobby (Paramabrata Chattopadhyay) for having an extra-marital affair. "Her husband's a monster," is her logic. It is only after she faces the trauma of dealing with her spouse's affair herself that she starts discouraging her friends.

Human emotions are beautifully portrayed be it Koushik's trauma when he finds out that his beau Meeta is dead, or Kaberi's anxiety-cum-anger when she sees her unfaithful husband in the ICU.

What is not beautifully portrayed is the unnecessary love scenes between Chhanda and Bobby, and Meeta's husband and a prostitute. Unnecessary sex scenes, for unknown reasons, have been present in a number of Rituparno's films be it Dosar or Shubho Mahurat.

Both Prasenjit and Konkona, particularly the latter, offer great performances. Konkona's just-right emotions reminds one of her mother, Aparna Sen [Images]. However, one fails to understand the reason for the film being shot in black and white. It feels nice, nevertheless. Good background music and near-perfect cinematography offer the required support.

Overall, an immensely watchable film.

I was skeptical when I bought this to be honest. I have chronic neck, shoulder and upper back pain, and in the morning they are usually worse. My PT told me to sleep on my back only which is hard to do. I started to research 'pillows for shoulder pain' and one website showed some options and dosaze was one of the top. So I decided to give it a try. And I fell in love with it. I really like the support it provides. I wouldn't say it completely made me pain go away, but I definitely don't feel worse in the morning which is already a life-changer. Only negative feedback: when I bought the pillow I added the pillow case protector too, but when I received it I felt like that was just waste of my money. You can put the pillow in any pillow case (I thought I needed some special pillow case because of the shape). So, I don't suggest you add the protector, just buy the pillow on its own.

John's life journey continued, as he returned from World War II and enrolled at Berea College in central Kentucky, majoring in physics from 1947 to 1951. While at Berea, he became acquainted with Samuel (Sam) Hurst, another eastern Kentuckian and longtime friend, as both became research scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). John's love and support for Berea College continued throughout his life. In addition to his generous financial contributions to Berea, he served on the Board of Trustees of Berea for many years and retired from the board as an honorary trustee of the college. In 1987, John was awarded an honorary doctorate of science from Berea.
