When I try and start Maya, both the launcher (see pic below) and Output Window open, but I'm unable to sign in to activate the product. As soon as I click "Sign in with your Autodesk ID," the launcher closes and nothing happens. I've tried reopening Maya and the same thing happens over and over again.
I have the same problem but i did all of the steps and no luck, help. I installed maya 2024 a few months ago with success, then decided to Uninstall a while ago but then reinstall it. Now this time I can't login, I tried every solution and none worked. I can't even login in autodesk access
Hello, I am using maya 2014 and am trying to retopo the model in Maya with quad draw, from Zbrush. I set the mesh to live, and it turns dark green like it should but when I place points on the mesh to create topology the points are snapping to the grid not onto the mesh. Anyone have any ideas? Is my version of Maya too old? Any help would be very appreciated.
The version of Maya you're using shouldn't have an impact on the quality of the Quad Draw Tool. Sure it's been improved in subsequent versions of Maya, but Quad Draw worked as it was designed to in the Maya 2014 release. And what you've described as a set of steps to retopo your ZBrush mesh inside Maya 2014 sounds exactly right - so there's something we need to investigate here. Sure it's an older version of Maya, but I have all versions loaded on my machine so I can help you out.
So, did that work - is the new quad on the surface of the sphere? If so, it would help if you could provide the scene file you're using so that I can dig further into the problem (might be scene-specific) - feel free to send it to me privately if you don't want to share it here. But as long as you follow similar steps as above, it should work fine in Maya 2014 - I tested it on my end and it does.
Generally speaking, when dots snap to the grid when Quad Draw is active, it means that there is no live mesh in the scene. But since your mesh's wireframe color is turning dark green, it appears that you do indeed have a live mesh in your scene. To be sure though, in Maya's Status Line (the top/main toolbar), do you see the name of your mesh's shape right next to the Make Live icon, indicating that it's indeed live in the scene (and highlighted in blue)? Your Transform Constraints field in the Modeling Toolkit panel should also display "Using Live Surface" in this case.
I am very sorry for the late response, and thank you for the quick reply haha. I did actually figure out that I guess in the modeling toolkit menu I need to select the mesh I am retopoing on top of, in the Transform Constraints tab, opposed to making it live using the Magnet.
Although I have run into another problem with the modeling toolkit that none of the hotkeys work with quad draw as they say they should. I cannot relax any verts and I can not use the Marking Menu function. It appears as it appears it should but there are no selections to make. I have tried reseting Maya to default but that didn't help. Any ideas? Or should I just open a new ticket?
Bonus Tools 2020-2024 is a free collection of useful Autodesk Maya scripts and plug-ins. After installing Bonus Tools, an additional pull-down menu will be added to the end of the main Maya menu providing easy access to a variety of tools and utilities for daily use. Maya Bonus Tools has been organized to mimic the layout of the standard Maya menu sets with each sub-menu containing a number of related tools.
Really love tools included. What I cant understand is why such massive company as Autodesk cant make it available for new Maya version on release but one has to wait few months. Still no version compatible with Maya 2024 and there was already patch to Maya. Also - why these tools are not included in Maya? Again - fantastic tool set unnecesairly separated from Maya itself and updated few months into release for no reason.
Hello everybody. I have Maya 2018. I have installed the bonustools but the menu does not appear. in the description it says that it is also good for this version. I am very interested in speedcut. can anyone help me? :)
I downloaded this specifically for the Poly Volume. It works great. Perfect. Make sure you enable the "Measure" Plug in so the Poly Volume will be accessible because by default it is grayed out and requires the Measure Plug in.
When checking the install location, the new plugins/scripts all reside within the install folders, unless i'm missing something, it seems this was shoddily packaged with a previous version of the installer and configuration files.
Sweep Mesh is not a stable or flexible enough replacement for Curve to Ribbon Mesh. Sweep Mesh has tripled my work time for the same task due to having to fiddle with UV's for each individual hair card and being unable to smoothly work with more than one mesh at a time. Please keep Curve to Ribbon Mesh for another year or two while Sweep Mesh finds its footing.
I have the same issue, the new tools don't appear, tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. If i uninstall Bonus Tools and open Maya the Bonus Tools menu disappears, then reinstall and it's the same old Bonus Tools Menu, still have Curve To Ribbon, can't see SpeedCut anywhere in the menu.
I have a lot of fatal error when I change the options of this tool...
But it's not my main issue, I can't see any icons when I click on "Update Browser Icons". I want to see my shaders library (vray, arnold, maya shaders : no icons). Any way to see them ?
I try to create some swatches/icons manually but It doesn't work.
I have a similar issue :Warning: file: C:/ProgramData/Autodesk/ApplicationPlugins/MayaBonusTools-2016-2019/Contents/scripts-2018/LT_UI.mel line 1838: The -bs/-borderStyle flag is obsolete and should not be used. With a lot of fatal error due to the Browser and I can't see any icons in it.. even after clicking on "Update Browser Icons"Do you find a way to work with the browser ?
