myMac Os Ventura 13.2 is seriously compromised somebody introduced some aps or scripts to access all my information and copy it does any of you Knows a Mac nerd which can help me, I'm in Lisbon, Portugal

Then shutdown completely, hold the Option key while powering on, select the flash drive and boot then go to Disk Utillity and View -> Show all Devices. Highlight the internal SSD and click Erase, format it as APFS. Then quit Disk Utillity and install macOS Ventura.

There is an App to help collect technical details so we can see what's loading and running and identify anything out of the ordinary without exposing any personal information. You can install this free App, run the report and attach it in reply using the Additional Text button. We will analyze the log and provide further advice.

If you feel that your information is being compromised the steps in this resource are the best to take to stop your data from being compromised: If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

Thank you for this information it's important to know it. In fact this situation was my fault since the scammer had access to my computer through AnyDesk which I allow him to use it. At the time I had no idea of the risk I came across. I called Apple support and they cleaned the cache and the cookies in order to take out any malware introduced at the computer. I'm sure it helped but I'm not sure it clean it all. I'm still receiving a pop up message from "google" asking to reintroduce the password from one of my emails which I did already at the Google proper page when I've changed it and I access this email without any Google password demands, so it must be from the scammer. I will follow your advice and I'll install the App you recommend me. And I'm doing it now and I'll be back to you with the info as fast it shows the report. Thank you again.

Thank you, I'm doing it all right now.The only sharing I have is the printer or you found others? If you did it wasn't authorised by me. And also this continuous change from Safari to Chrome never happened before, looks very suspicious.

OK, I've been taking care of Chrome as you advised me as also System Settings. Now I'll proceed with the removal of AnyDesk ,which the Apple Support assistant already did, so It's very suspicious if you still found it here since I also never installed, I mean I was never a register client. As also I was never a registered TeamViewer user, if it showed active, again it wasn't me, even because that scammer also had access to it so he might activate it without my knowledge.

I can't find AnyDesk at the Applications folder but it still shows twice at Login items described as an item from an unidentified developer and also at the Launch Daemons appears "com.philandro.anydesk.service.plist" and says property list 529 bytes. Can you let me know how can I remove it definitely from the computer? Because since I can't locate it at the computer I can't remove it according to the explanation of the link you sent me.

The Etresoft logs show the following files that you should remove. Sounds like you removed AnyDesk but these few files should be removed as well. They don't seem to work without /Applications/AnyDesk being present but still be good to remove them.

Again thank you so much. I've been exploring my Mac and I'm absolutely sure that all my information was copied mainly on the February 9 at 9.39 AM and also today at 6.10 AM my Keychain System was accessed. I suspected because I found a Log a "Restore Log" which besides I don't understand its language looked suspicious and as so I did a careful analysis of my Mac HD system and it was cloned.

All that (and more) happens here too. I've already done everything they indicated to block remote access, etc and etc, but when analyzing logs and activities they appear active. I have no technical knowledge and this universe is big from what I realized. (I prefer not to say what I saw in real time because someone always says that there is no way on Mac and iPhones, but some people know what is possible)

Yes, I was not careful or aware of the risks on internet. I've done everything you've advised here and in other posts. It does not solve. Every week something different appears, from extensions with modified icons and names (hidden in system folders), folders like skype and others that I didn't install. The browser seems to have a life of its own, populating profile files with activities and unrealized accesses. I sleep but the computer seems not to.

I've already found files about proxy, and other very clear ones about modifications (even about having a local server, something I don't have and I don't know how to do it), curiously when I analyze something suspicious, the computer freezes or restarts, such files no longer exist and others remain encrypted) I called google and apple who knew nothing and didn't seem legitimate.

Anydesk? A trusted friend asked to install one day, but found nothing. Then I found the trace and it showed another connection later on. I didn't have time to save the file, as soon as I found and analyzed it, the mac crashed, gave an error and did a factory restore. It must be my bad luck, after all this is not possible as mentioned in other posts. VNC, Teamviewer and the like visit activity monitor every now and then. Remote Management, VCA Recorder, MCX, MDM and derivatives as well. I never used any of that. But of course, it must be my concern for no reason as I have already been answered.

Windows features related to virtualization appear frequently, I don't even know what it is. Some files about fusion, virtalbox, vmware i found, for my surprise, I see visual changes too, scaling errors sometimes, stanger things, and when I turn it on or restart (which has changed too, it never seems to turn off), the screen with the apple appears, blinks, appears again, about 3 times, changes color like a switch, it never it happened in the 10 years that I have this macbook 2010 high sierra. And I won't even mention the iPhone 6 I have, its apps got so weird I took most of them off.

Sorry for the long text, and if you think this comment is unnecessary, feel free to delete it. I lost all hope of solving these weird things. But I learned to be much more careful with programs, websites, and people too. Unfortunately my work equipment was unusable now. (And I have no idea what could be going on). Bye

The main difference between the free and paid versions of AnyDesk is the set of features that are available to users. The free version is limited in terms of features, while the paid version comes with additional functionalities and more advanced features.

The free version of AnyDesk only allows you to access up to 3 devices, which can be a constraint if you have multiple devices you need to connect to. AnyDesk Free is also lacking several features commonly needed by remote desktop users, including:

One issue that free users commonly experience is that they have their remote connections blocked by AnyDesk for suspected commercial use. This is a big limitation of the free version of AnyDesk as you run the risk of being blocked from accessing your remote computers if AnyDesk suspects you are using it for commercial purposes.

When considering remote access solutions, it's essential to evaluate whether the free version of AnyDesk can fulfill your specific needs. While AnyDesk's free version offers basic remote access capabilities, it comes with several limitations that may impact its effectiveness for professional or business use.

Session Time Limits: Users may encounter time limits on remote sessions, which can be disruptive, especially when performing lengthy tasks. This limitation can hinder productivity and workflow continuity.

Security Concerns: The free version may not offer the same level of security features as the paid versions, such as privacy mode. This could pose risks, particularly when accessing sensitive information remotely.

Commercial Use Restrictions: AnyDesk's free version is primarily intended for personal use. Using it for commercial purposes may violate the terms of service, potentially leading to account suspension or other issues.

Splashtop comes with all the top features, including file transfer, chat, remote print, multi-monitor support, and much more. Splashtop also performs better than AnyDesk, making users feel as if they were sitting in front of the remote computer thanks to super-fast remote connections.

AnyDesk offers a free version that provides basic remote access capabilities. However, this version is primarily intended for personal use and comes with several limitations. For more robust features and better security, consider using Splashtop, which offers comprehensive remote access solutions tailored to both personal and professional needs.

You can use AnyDesk's free version indefinitely for personal use. However, if the system detects commercial usage, it may block or limit the connection. For uninterrupted and unrestricted remote access, especially for business purposes, consider Splashtop, which provides a range of plans to suit different needs.

What is striking is that the attackers have managed to penetrate the remote access solution itself. More commonly, attacks follow a different pattern: the target is to steal access credentials of specific companies so that the company itself can get breached. AnyDesk is known for its extensive customer portfolio, including major corporations and millions of IT professionals worldwide, making the potential impact of this attack far-reaching.

The breach was significant enough to prompt AnyDesk to reset passwords, revoke all security-related certificates, and replace compromised systems, indicating a deep intrusion into their network infrastructure.

The ramifications of the attack were substantial, both in terms of operational downtime and potential financial losses. AnyDesk experienced a multi-day outage, initially described as maintenance, which disrupted service for millions of users.
