Caching, invalidation etc

Hi,

I'm just wondering how you guys do a couple of things (if you do). I
have some content I'm caching (using the :cache helper).

I need to dismiss the cache when some data operation occurs.

Do you have some special mechanism, plugin or anything like that to
handle it ? Do you use your own ?
