Status:
2 parts to the brochure: a non-ad section and an ad section, both of which will be intermingled in the printing.
We have 2 leads therefore:
Non-ad: Gayatri
Ad: Anitha
We discussed the following ideas on Fri:
1. Photos of students
- Can we have a photo shoot day, like they have in schools and soccer teams and not combine it with the rehearsal, like we did for Rasaanubhava?
- Idea #2: Some parent from each class can take the photo of just the students and we can have one big photo with all 61 kids and Hemakka, taken on a designated day.
Goal here is to get the photos early and make it efficient.
2. Bios of students, articles from them about music, Ramayana etc
Idea: start early, collect information into a running pdf, send them out weekly to the whole school to motivate kids to write, smile (for the photo taken by their parents) and send them to Gayatri.
3. Ads:
Idea: instead of each parent going to restaurants and dentists and asking them to sponsor an ad, how about we collect a list of businesses that advertise in India Currents, Thendral etc and have members of this committee call them and send the info to Gayatri and Anitha? We will be assigned a few businesses each to contact.
Idea #2 (that I did not bring up on Fri): for the ad format, can we ask them for the very same one that they use in these magazines?
Idea #3: tell the advertisers that their ads will be shown as a slide show before the program starts and in the intermission.
#4: send the flyer by email so that they'll know what they're spending money on.
#5 (by Ravi and Srinivas): get some big corporate sponsors and put their logos in the banner about the show and prominently in the brochure.
