Yesterday's talk with Kausalya

Dear Hema Akka,

Just wanted to let all of you know what I spoke to Mrs Kausalya yesterday.

1. Regarding hanging anything on the stage from top, she said we can't do it as someone fell once and they have strictly told we can't hang anything.

2. Regarding having raisers, she wanted to know how many raisers we will need. She felt if for the first song and last song the whole school needs to be seated, we can't ask for so many raisers as each one costs and the cost has significantly increased from the last time we did the fund raiser. She also felt we are demanding for too many things and it costs a lot this year when compared to last time. I explained to her that I was just finding the information as I coordinated last time and will check with you and confirm. She felt some schools have around 100 kids performing and they sit on the floor only. Can we have some simple rugs on the floor without any raisers? I think it will be difficult to fit the whole school in any case. In that case, do we need any raisers at all for accompanists? If we need any raisers, she wants us to call her to tell her the number so she can request for that ASAP.

3. Regarding snack, she asked us to order from any place. She said we cannot sell it there. Maybe we can keep a box for donation and people can place any donations for that if they need. I was thinking we can order 400 somosas from Rajot. We can send an email to the school to pay $1 for somosas on that day as a donation. We don't compel them on that day. Last time Sangithalaya paid for it and Mrs Kausalya bought some sweets for us. We are not sure if she is going to bring this time as she said everything has become too costly.
